On Monday, DRC and other members of the Mandela Campaign coalition gathered at the state capitol for a day of action to end solitary confinement in California! Survivors of this cruel and inhumane practice, their families, faith leaders, community members and organizations called on our state’s leadership to do the right thing by passing The California Mandela Act (AB 280). California is woefully behind on this important human rights issue, and it’s time for that to change. Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/gkUcgvJt

Today, as we observe September 11th, we pause to reflect on a day that forever changed the course of history. It’s a day to honor those who lost their lives and to pay tribute to the countless acts of heroism and solidarity that emerged in the aftermath. More than 20 years have passed, but we will never forget those who perished that day nor those who sprang to action to save lives and protect our nation. #NeverForget #September11 #Remembrance #Remembering911

We are truly blessed in this country we call home. We are privileged to enjoy incredible freedoms, but all too often, we take them for granted. We shouldn't, as many countries do not share these privileges. What we do with these freedoms defines who we are: · The freedom to live, love, and laugh. · The freedom to work hard and succeed. · The freedom to challenge ourselves mentally and physically. · The freedom to debate and question political norms. · The freedom to vote and assist in the political process · The freedom to fail and recover. · The freedom to make choices, both wise and unwise. · The freedom to educate ourselves. · The freedom to make mistakes and learn from them. · The freedom to honor and support those who protect these freedoms · The freedom to honor those who lost their lives protecting freedom. · The freedom to positively impact the lives of others. · The freedom to tell our loved ones how much they mean to us. As we celebrate the 4th of July, think about the choices you’ve made with your freedoms. Happy 4th of July!

Congressman Wesley Hunt just DESTROYED the radicals in Congress - who refuse to say the Pledge of Allegiance! REPOST and amplify his voice!! Hunt: "You want to find common ground in American politics again? Let’s start by acknowledging the fact that the United States is greatest experiment in Democracy ever conceived. Start by acknowledging the incredible progress we’ve made as a nation. Start by standing for the national anthem and saying the Pledge of Allegiance. When we can’t even agree on THIS, we have major issues. The Pledge, our National Anthem, and our Flag represent a symbol of FREEDOM that thousands and thousands have sacrificed their lives to preserve." #thinblueline #lawenforcement

Our Founding Fathers gave us a more perfect union, that has lasted 235 years. For the sake of our children and our grandchildren, we must have a rebirth of freedom, a rebirth of our laws, and we must defend all of our Institutions. Every single American must now decide in the election year 2024 whether they still believe in those Founding Fathers, in that U.S. Constitution, our flag, and most importantly all of our well-structured American Institutions. When someone chooses to expose a misuse of power and stand for what is right, they initiate the reshaping of the culture to come. Throughout history, courageous voices were compelling enough to motivate government to enact legislation to defend the vulnerable. Their sacrifices and unwavering determination modeled a way of life that challenged the masses to confront their biases and bigotry. A clarion call persists as our world continues to experience an epidemic of prejudice, mistrust, and injustice. Not everyone has the position or platform to influence the laws of the land from the highest courts; but every one of us has the power of influence to impact the lives of those around us just by doing what is right. Through simple acts of kindness, we can be voices of everyday justice as we choose to use our power for good. Download for free: https://lnkd.in/eg-UaNMV

Sending solidarity and strength to everyone affected by the appalling racist, Islamophobic and xenophobic violence, whether directly or indirectly. I see you and I stand with you. You are welcome here, you are valued here, you are precious to this country and we would be lost without you. White folks: we need to step up. It’s not enough just to say ‘I’m not racist’. We have work to do. Ally is a verb. These are interesting times and many people have come together for resolutions of peace and protection when civil rights were deemed higher value than the wars it chained us to in last futred resolutions. President Lincoln set the stage for the people to stand as one and why His sacrifice is still mine and All people of America not by a side determined by an organization discorded by three but resolved by three. So today was the date in history congress came to the title of “United States of America” 🇺🇸 But even then these words were changed over time from the original: Pledge of Allegiance (Bellamy versions) (changes are bolded and underlined) 1892 (first version)[1] "I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all." 1892 to 1923 (early revision by Bellamy)[2] "I pledge allegiance to my Flag and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all." 1923 to 1924[3] "I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all." 1924 to 1954[3] "I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all." 1954 (current version, per 4 U.S.C. §4)[4] "I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all." So where do we stand to say that God is over America or was the value of the country challenged by confusion from misrepresentation of long term policy decisions that created the need for God to be entered back through the lines written in the pages? But what if the statement “We give our heads and hearts to God and our country country, one language one flag!” Could be as time evoked to become two in the same. And then there was according to Margaret S Miller statement by Upham: “Mary, if I can instill into the minds of our American youth, a love for their country, and the principles on which it was founded, and create in them in ambition, to carry on with the ideals, which the early founders wrote into the constitution, I shall not have lived in vain.” I think much on these principles The Knights of Columbus, the worlds largest Catholic fraternal service organization prompted Congress to adopt the policy for the entire nation. And then need know to rewrite the definition for God to be shorthand, remove cross words, and create crossroads to a certain more definitive phrasing: In respect of the forefathers and evolution of global society for future development for Youth to be: We the people under the Government of Democracy pledge united as one Nation indivisible with liberty and justice for All.
