Teaching about up and down has its own ups and downs. Prepositions can make for dry subject matter, and it can be tricky to make children understand the concepts so Priyanka, an aspiring teacher, created this awesome multi-sensory teaching aid, a preposition model board! This was used to teach children with autism and developmental disabilities, the nuances of the English language. Turns out bright colors and tactile makes learning fun and interactive for kids and everyone else! Video description: This solution video is explained by a woman, Priyanka, who is sitting in a room on a low table. On her left is a model to teach prepositions. It is a large rectangular board, with the word Preposition written on top. Words like in, on, into, up, down etc. are written in a list on the extreme right and left below it. In the middle portion of the board there are paper cutouts of a table, tunnel, watch, box & stairs. Priyanka is controlling the movement of a ball attached to the board with magnets. The word 'below' can now be explained by dragging the ball under the table cutout. Priyanka explains other prepositions in a similar manner. #Community #Innovation #Disability #ProjectDiscovery #EveryOneAnInnovator #BreakFreeSolutions

From a child development perspective, children benefit from progressive training that introduces one part of a skill at a time, slowly building to complex patterns. They benefit from opportunities for guided improvisation and play, which helps them understand what they are learning, make connections, and express themselves. Learn more about how understanding child development principles can improve your teaching of young children in NDEO's most recent blog post, "Strategies for Connecting with Your Dance Students" at https://lnkd.in/gpfC9cNe
