🎈 What an inspiring evening we had on Monday at #zero360! Hosted by Dr. Shamim Rafat, Founder and CEO of zero360, our latest Persians in Tech Berlin United! event delved into the essence of #leadership, particularly under the uncertain conditions that today's crises bring. In a relaxed and familial atmosphere, Shamim shared his personal leadership experiences during the COVID pandemic and the onset of the war in Ukraine and the subsequent #implications for the business of his company. He emphasized the importance of #transparent #communication with the team, not sugarcoating the realities but listening and involving team members as we navigate new strategies together. Key #future #skills for leaders in such times include: #listening actively, fostering #empathy, #involving employees in decision-making, communicating uncertainties #transparently, and maintaining an #adaptive #mindset and #emotional #agility. Had an amazing 48 hours at Transform earlier this week! 📚 Learned a lot 🤝 Built valuable connections (and re-connected with old ones) 🐶 Enjoyed some puppy love! A huge shoutout to OMERS Ventures for hosting a thought-provoking HR Confidential session. We dove into discussing failures, their potential to propel us forward, and the nuances of building a strong CEO/CPO relationship. Remember, what happens at HR Confidential, stays there! One prevalent theme resonated throughout the conference: "People Leaders as Growth Catalysts" As People leaders, our role has evolved beyond just people strategy—we now shape organizational strategy. The challenges of recent years have spotlighted the People function, emphasizing our significant impact on the success of the business. In the enthusiastic words of Dean Carter, "We don't just have a seat at the table, we have a whole damn chunk of the table!" Now that we have this piece of real estate, how do we lean in and make the most of it? To start, I'm asking myself: 🎯 Is my People strategy aligned closely with the goals of the business? 💼 Am I deeply involved in all business areas, building credibility and understanding each role's impact? 🚀 Am I staying ahead in technology? 🤝 Am I aligned with leadership to drive positive transformation?
