Not a native English speaker but I teach English passionately, creatively, and patiently. The truth is, English was my greatest challenge until I decided to make it my greatest passion.
Honor Thy As a Filipino English teacher and lecturer, I am passionate about guiding students through the intricacies of English language and literature. My approach is not just about teaching grammar and vocabulary, but also about helping students connect with their emotions and thoughts through literature. By understanding and honoring our emotions, we can enhance our learning experiences and personal growth. Emotional-based learning activities can certainly enrich students' positive emotion, and thus learning becomes long lasting. #EnglishTeacher #EnglishLiterature #FilipinoTeacher #TeachingEnglish #LiteratureLecturer #EmotionalIntelligence #LanguageLearning #InclusiveEducation #StudentEngagement #TeachingWithHeart #LanguageArts #Education #EdTech #Philippines #ESL #TeachingStrategies

#Tips for teaching English language:- #2_ Encourage Discussion and Discourse When going over cultural characteristics, reading materials and articles, be sure to encourage discussion among your students. They can dissect themes in the movies they watch and spot the differences between their culture and what they see depicted.

In today's Teachers Only Live-Stream with @CathleenElise, we're talking about 3 main areas involved in the global focus of hiring only native-English-speaking English teachers, as well as constructive ways we can turn this obsession around so that all teachers of English are hired for no other reason than their skill and qualifications. Well, we'll spend 30 minutes or so walking through the ins-and-outs of these issues and obstacles (and some ways to address them productively) while also helping you to create a plan that works for you in your life as it is right now. By the time you leave, you'll be able to start working on taking the necessary steps to create solutions in your life right now. We'll also talk about two great resources I have come across that focus specifically on bringing about positive change in the world of teaching English as a foreign or second language. Join me today (and every Thursday) at 1:00 pm Eastern Time, LIVE. The link is in the comments.

It's easy to teach English grammar and vocabulary, but what some teachers struggle to transfer to learners is discourse and coherence in speech. These skills are an integral part of produced language. Some English learners acquire these skills upon constant exposure to real-life use of Englsih. It's difficult to encapsulate a broad topic within a few sentences; however, this post is a starting point for discussion. I'd love to hear from fellow English teachers on this. Comment below any ideas. 😁

THE ORANGE MOUSE (Lite) - entertaining, practical assistance for students taking the English language in primary school. Primary school English teachers use The Orange Mouse (Lite) as an in-class exercise to stress a grammar point, give students English language practice; or, as light, fun English language homework. The exercises in TOM (Lite) also build critical thinking and deductive reasoning skills. An ideal supplementary English exercise book for building confidence and understanding of the English language.
