With insights from the Indigenous Employment Index (IEI), leaders are encouraged to engage deeply with Indigenous communities, set robust employment targets, and address workplace racism. This NAIDOC Week, Women and Leadership Australia is calling on businesses to create sustainable opportunities and close the employment gap for First Nations Australians. Enabling organisations to perform and transform through their people & culture | Fractional People Director | Board advisor | Employment lawyer | Coach | Consultant
I can't help but think Esther McVey, the Government's "Minister of Common Sense", is displaying anything but. Reducing the EDI agenda to what is statutorily required will take away many of its (well evidenced) benefits. Good work on #equality, #diversity and #inclusion extends way beyond the Equality Act 2010 and into creating high performing organisations that are truly welcoming places to work. Not just ones that don't discriminate. Whatever next? Telling organisations they should stop caring about #engagement or #wellbeing? 🙄 At Culture Consultancy we work with organisations that care about their attraction, retention and productivity and appreciate how #equality, #diversity and #inclusion can help these crucial business outcomes. I've written a blog to help such organisations start, or accelerate, their journey - see the link in the comments #PsychologicalSafety #WorkplaceWellbeing #CultureOfCare #MentalHealthMatters #UKMentalHealthWeek #CultureConsultancy #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek #DEI #WellbeingAtWork

The Equality Imperative for Business and Organisations As a fundamental, the UK Equality Act (2010) provides an imperative for organisations to protect employees from discrimination. However, substantive evidence shows that diversified and more inclusive organisations are more productive, including: Creative, efficient, effective and/or profitable. To assist you, we are excited to launch a new series of courses to help you with the following: - How can I recruit and retain a more diversified workforce? - How can I promote employee awareness of the equality necessity? - How can I reduce bias in the organisation for more effective inclusive working? - How can I promote more competent cross culture working with clients? - How can I enable my staff to reduce stress and promote better mental wellbeing? If you would like a free organisaitonal inclusion audit and to discuss options for workforce development, please DM or Email us at: enquiries@wellbeinginsight.org.uk #equality #inclusion

Best Selling Author of As The Smoke Clears/ Survivor/ Motivational Speaker/ Columnist with Irish Independent/ Supplement Account Manager/ UK Agency Manager
So Friday March 8th is International Women's Day & this years theme is #InspireInclusion I'm truly passionate about this year's theme because it offers hope and shines a light on all those who feel their opportunities have been limited based on gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity and ability Yes it is International 'Women's' Day, but the true essence of inclusion means inclusion for all, accommodating anyone that has experienced exclusion or endured limitations in the workplace Speaking as a proud Irish woman of a certain age (as in old enough to have been around the block a few times 😉) I'm sad to see that we still have considerable work to do if we're finally going to obliterate that #GlassCeiling Need proof of the fact? Well earlier this year it was reported that the pay-gap in Ireland's biggest companies remains to be a key issue Women are still (yes even in this day and age) paid on average 13.7% less than our male counterparts and the widest pay gaps are in: Finance, Banking, Insurance, Law & Construction For those clambering the top of the career ladder, have a gander at some other stats below, reported from June '23, and you'll see just how steep a climb we have ahead to achieve true equity and inclusion For #iwd2024 let's resolve to hammer the living daylights out of that ceiling and make Ireland worthy of the term #Inclusive! #MotivationalSpeaker #MakeChangeHappen #Inclusion #Equity #Diversity #LondonSpeakerBureau

A recent Oxford report has confirmed that most Britons are onboard with EDI efforts. However, the report highlights a crucial point: while support is strong, there's a call for these initiatives to better reflect people's day-to-day realities. It's a clear signal that the journey towards true equality isn't just about ticking boxes; it's about creating meaningful change that resonates with everyone.
