I have a great idea. Reduce EQT executive compensation and increase every other employee’s compensation while still saving overall payroll costs. Employee compensation is spent at local retail establishments and professional services which is awesome for our economy. Less overall compensation costs equals more earnings to send to the owners of the company via dividends. CEO Rice, it’s a great idea. You can reach out to me and I can help. Imagine the great publicity from such a move. And you are most welcome. For your edification, surrounding yourself with a bunch of yes minions will keep your share price dropping. An original idea isn’t possible in that environment. Maybe you need someone to challenge you. No maybe, your ego needs someone to challenge you. Reduce executive compensation. Pay the American worker and the shareholders. That plays in Peoria dude.
Wishing everyone a Happy Labor Day!

THE UNEXPECTED GLORY OF ORKNEY St. Magnus' Cathedral in Kirkwall is very beautiful, but also, I would argue, extremely significant. It has, of course, great religious, civic and cultural significance for its windswept and "remote" northern archipelago. Looking at its masonry, (splendid inside as this photo shows), there is a good lesson about the Islands' geology. All the stone is local; the soft red, a yellow, and grey-to-ochre......all part of the so-called Old Red Sandstone, which gives the archipelago its fertility. But its sheer scale and quality actually reminds us of historic climate-change; while our peatlands derive from periods of climatic downturn, there were, at intervals, periods of climatic optimum when agriculture- and everyone- prospered. But there have been other slow changes. Kirkwall was once a Nordic capital, but as through time " a country became a mere county", (now the awkwardly -named "Islands Area") its status has, of course, declined. For many of us, this is not an easy time. We have a dangerous World, a country that has clearly lost its way, a polarising debate, while, for so many of us, the REAL crises which are engulfing us are hardly considered. It is, perhaps, no wonder if people despair, or, instead, opt for simple, sweeping solutions: we will 'rewild Scotland' or plant trees all over it....... PLEASE remember that we have different histories, different cultures, sometimes even different aspirations, and a different understanding of our own landscapes........

CEO @ Forte | Mental Well-being | US Marine | Recovering Runner | Espresso Enthusiast | Aspiring Author
We're lying to ourselves. And we arent well because of it. Dr. Tal Ben-Shahar, Dr. Maria Sirois, Psy.D., and Megan McDonough laid out pretty clearly how we can steward our wellbeing in their SPIRE method. But we arent drowning in a sea of knowledge. Rather, we are a in a desert of will. We need to stop lying to ourselves and others on what we need and want as human beings. Learn more at the Marine Monk Substack: https://lnkd.in/ehgQA7HA

Experienced Marketing Leader for Consumer Products and Subscriptions | Strategy | Proposition and Product Development | Go to Market | Business Transformation
I’m incredibly proud that after 2 years, we’ve made Convergence relevant, and the EE One campaign goes live today. Last October we launched a market leading convergence proposition - Unlimited Data Mobile Plans from £10 a month on the UKs Best Network for customers with EE Broadband. But price isn’t everything. We know people don’t switch broadband providers for rational reasons like saving money; it helps for sure, but for lots of people the fear of switching broadband prevails and they stay where they are. We know this because we asked them. Multiple times. And their responses hardly changed each time we asked. Something more emotive was needed to drive a change in their behaviour… The internet is big and scary; we spoke to parents concerned about either the amount of time their children spend online or how they can make sure that they can switch off when the time is right or to allow them to disconnect to connect as a family. As parents, all we want is for our children to be safe in and out of the home, and for the organisations providing the internet connection to acknowledge the challenges parents face, and ideally provide solutions. Having your broadband and mobile from one provider that understands this challenge simply makes sense. Not financial sense, but common sense. There’s only one internet after all; switch off the wifi and a phone still works on 4G/5G. EE provides the solution to this problem, for all of the family, and at a fantastic price. With EE, not only are you getting the best connection wherever you are, you can also choose when enough is enough. EE allows you to switch off the broadband AND mobile connection to devices on your account from the EE App - the battle at bedtime just got much much easier. “Connect and Protect” is a concept I championed internally for 2 years, and I’m not ashamed to say that a few people turned their noses up at the concept when I first mentioned it. But our key audiences have shown that this is so important to them and the conversation about the use of phones by children has grown louder and louder. As we focus more on audiences, their needs and therefore what we as organisations can do to make their lives better, simpler and more cost effective, that’s when the magic happens. Broadband and mobile ARE relevant, they allow us to use the internet and keep us connected every day wherever we are. But they also play a critical role to keep our children connnected so they can contact us when they need to, but to allow us to switch the internet off at the right time to keep them safe. A huge thank you to the team for getting this over the line and turning this concept into a reality, but especially Oleksandra Pryntsevska and Priyesh Patel for stepping up and in respectively. And if you aren’t with EE yet for your mobile AND broadband connection, maybe now’s the time to seriously consider switching 😉
Peace of mind comes with a better connection - both in and outside of the home. EE One has you covered 🙌 New work for EE now live ✨

Leadership Development for Technical Teams I Talks about leadership, data, emotional intelligence, and projects.
This Labor Day, I am thankful for: 1. Meaningful work 2. How much physical working conditions have improved since the first Labor Day in 1882. The average American worked 6 days/week, 12 hours a day back then. 3. How there has been an increased awareness of the importance of mental health and burnout prevention in recent years in the workplace. What are you thankful for this Labor Day? #LaborDay #mentalhealth #hr
On this day, we honor and appreciate the hard work, dedication, and contributions of workers everywhere!

**What if you had to work 22 months to earn what others make in just 12?** For Latinas, that’s not a hypothetical—it’s their reality. **October 3rd, Latina Equal Pay Day**, marks how far into 2024 Latinas must work to match the 2023 earnings of white, non-Hispanic men. **Did you know?** The median annual pay for Latinas is nearly **half** of what white, non-Hispanic men are paid, and this pay gap exists in **every industry**, regardless of education or experience. This isn’t just a Latina issue—it’s an issue for all of us. When Latinas are underpaid, the entire economy suffers. They have less to invest in local businesses, less to put into their communities, and fewer opportunities to build generational wealth. It limits the economic potential of entire communities and industries. Latinas contribute greatly to their workplaces—taking on extra tasks, translating, mentoring, and stepping up time and again without seeing it reflected in their paychecks. **That’s not just unfair—it’s unacceptable.** We must demand better. When Latinas are paid fairly, our workplaces become stronger, our communities more prosperous, and everyone benefits. It’s time to close this gap once and for all. **Equal pay for Latinas benefits everyone.** Sources: Michigan.gov | Equal Pay Today @mujerxsrising @equalpay2dayorg @lclaa #LatinaEqualPayDay #Trabajadoras #EqualPayForLatinas #CloseTheWageGap
