Hey, mob, are you interested in working for the Dja Dja Wurrung Group? Mandy’s advice is: “Don’t be deterred about the job interview process – mine wasn’t too formal. There’s so much help. Don’t give up. Ask questions – they're only too happy to answer your questions.” Proud Dja Dja Wurrung and Yorta Yorta woman Mandy Saunders, 52, started a traineeship with DJANDAK in February 2023. In less than a year, she became a project officer working in Joint Management. She works three days a week. I just kept ringing every week if there were any jobs available and Renee would run me through them. It helps to have someone like that on the other end of the phone for a nervous person. “Within less than a year, I went from being a trainee to being a project officer. And now we have lots of projects that we’re trying to get off the ground,” Mandy said. “I'm in charge of signage. We’re in the process of getting signage fabricated and installed. I’ve never done this type of work before. We have to go out on Country to survey where the signs will be installed, and I help organise Wartakas when needed. I really love it when we go out on Country. Contact Renee or Ann for information or a yarn. Or check out our Gunga (Jobs) webpage for advertised roles www.djadjawurrung.com.au

Some Strategies During Your Job Interview : (1) Don't ever under estimate, argue with the panel interview with being arrogant as you normally behave. (2) Don't ever condemn your previous company and your " Toxic Boss" as you've been perceiving. You might be the one who actually is toxic. The panel interview might perceive that you're inadaptable, immature, emotional, entitled, vulnerable. (3) Don't burn the bridge. Who knows that after 5 years or so, you might be begging for a job with your previous company. (4) Smart Hiring Managers may simply browse through your FB, IG, TikTok, Twitter or Linkerdin accounts to analyze what kinda person you really are. (5) Some Hiring Managers might drill further if you resigned from 1 company, having been unemployed for about a year subsequently. (6) What are really vital in the interview would be : (6.1) Not about your jargons, bombastic words of your resume, being cut and paste or being prepared by a Consultant. (6.2) Your genuine relevant working experiences of your previous companies that will benefit the most the new company you are interested with. (6.3) Some companies like Petronas will be inviting you first for a chit chat session (1-2 hour session) with the Hiring Manager. Once you pass that chit chat session, then you might be invited for a structured interview session. (6.4) If you're a Fresh Graduate, besides your high CGPA of 3.0 and above, the Hiring Manager also is interested to dwell about your co curricular activities in your college such as being a Student Council Committee Member, College Representative or Ambassador. Furthermore, your final project assignment or your internship program.

Maximizing HR and Communications: Recruitment, Training & Development, Employee Engagement & Experience.
Job shadowing tremendously deepened my understanding of recruitment! 💡 By shadowing a seasoned teammate, I discovered the intricacies of coordinating interviews. It’s incredible to see the links between theory and action. We have all been on the other side of recruitment – receiving that email notification with an update on an application or hearing that buzz due to an incoming call from an unsaved number. I remember feeling a bit jittery before making my first calls to tell candidates they’ve progressed to the interview stage. It's a different feeling being on the other end of those calls, but in a good way. This time I’m filled with anticipation of potentially finding a new colleague. Whether it's happening online or in person, job shadowing offers an unparalleled, up-close view where questions flow freely, and every moment becomes a learning opportunity documented along the way. Reflecting on this experience, I'm curious: How has job shadowing enriched your understanding of a role or process? I'd love to hear about your experiences and insights. #JobShadowing #Recruitment #InternInsightsWithShaniqua #UnicomerGroup

We've made some recent placements. These were the top skills clients loved to see in candidates: Initiative: Candidates came to interviews understanding the company. Follow-up: Candidates were hungry - they sent prompt follow-up emails. Communication: They didn't take days to respond. And were proactive. Balance: The best candidates were both confident and humble. Share your enthusiasm with clients. Show them you're eager to grow in the role. And they’ll be eager to place you in it.

Graduation is a huge milestone, but the journey doesn't end there! Now's the time to prepare for the exciting world of corporate careers. One of the most important skills you'll need is acing that job interview. What are interview skills? Think of them as superpowers that help you shine in an interview. They let you make a great first impression, showcase your skills with confidence, and convince employers you're the perfect fit for the role. Ready to unlock your interview superpowers? Let's dive deeper! Here are some useful interview skills and tips for freshers (recent graduates or those with little to no work experience) in 2024: Research the company: Learn about the company's background, products/services, mission, culture, and recent news or developments. This knowledge will help you answer questions better and show your genuine interest. Practice answering common interview questions: Prepare responses to typical questions such as "Tell me about yourself," "Why should we hire you?" "What are your strengths and weaknesses?" etc. Practice delivering your responses clearly and confidently. Highlight relevant skills and experiences: Even with little work experience, you can discuss academic projects, internships, extracurricular activities, or volunteer work that allowed you to develop relevant skills like teamwork, problem-solving, communication, etc. Ask thoughtful questions: Prepare a few intelligent questions to ask the interviewer about the company, role, or work culture. This demonstrates your interest and curiosity. Focus on your enthusiasm and willingness to learn: Freshers can highlight their eagerness to learn, grow, and contribute to the organization. Showcase your adaptability and enthusiasm for the opportunity. Practice non-verbal communication: Maintain good eye contact, have a firm handshake, and use positive body language. This creates a favorable impression. Dress professionally: Appropriate grooming and attire (formal business attire) are essential for creating a professional image. 🤔Even Australian students DON'T KNOW about these "job hunting" strategies 👉I've been working full-time as an Environmental Field Technician for two weeks after I graduated from ECU three months ago. 👉I talked to a few Australian students who started working at the company just like me and I realized most of them don't even know about the "job hunting" strategies that I shared with my friends on LinkedIn. 😁This is very good news for international students. Even though international students have some disadvantages, we can always leverage these strategies: 1. Optimize your resume, and LinkedIn Profile - Make sure it shows exactly what job you want to apply for and why you are a competitive candidate for this job. 2. Write your cover letter like you are writing for the employer personally in an email and make sure you highlight why you are the best candidate for the job by addressing all the job requirements in the job description. 3. NEVER COPY - PASTE your CV/cover letter and apply for every job online. I guarantee 90% of these applications will be rejected. INSTEAD, try to rewrite your cover letter and change your resume so that it fits perfectly for each job description. 4. Get more opportunities by going out and networking with potential employers through professional institutions (there are heaps of them on Google), career fairs at uni, asking people for a quick coffee chat (most of them will say yes), and volunteering. 5. Master your answer to the popular interview questions so that when you get the call, you'll know what to talk about. 6. Be prepared and RESEARCH everything about the company, especially their recent projects, and everything on their website. This will help you with your cover letter and face-to-face interview. There are still a lot more strategies you can learn. Contact me if you want to learn more. 😁 long.vu@long-duhocphattrien.com.au

CEO & Co-founder at impress.ai | Entrepreneurial AI PhD leading impress.ai to global recruitment automation leadership, advocate for equitable AI-driven workplace transformation.
Have you heard the term Dogfooding? During a recent career fair, students were surprised to learn that we use impress.ai for our own hiring processes. It dawned on me that this isn't the norm among our competitors, but I wouldn't have it any other way. At impress.ai, every single employee has been hired using our own platform. This practice, often referred to as "dogfooding," is crucial for product companies to deeply understand and continuously improve their offerings. I'm incredibly proud of the diverse and skilled team we've built through this approach. From senior engineers who completed their degrees after joining us to employees from varied educational and professional backgrounds who changed careers, our hiring process prioritizes skills and potential over any other factor. It's an interesting fact that we beat industry averages on these without making it an objective to optimise on. And how is that possible? By Dogfooding. 😀 Amrith D.
