🙌 At Guardian Alliance Technologies, we're passionate about supporting law enforcement agencies in finding and retaining top talent. In a recent interview with Joe Monroe, Chief of Police at the University of Kentucky, he offered some compelling insights on improving recruitment retention rates in 2024. Joe emphasized the importance of creativity and building relationships early on. He said, "We need to get creative and target our audience before anyone else does. By engaging with students while they're still in school, sending them cards on their birthdays or congratulating them on their graduations, we show that we value them. This builds a strong connection and makes them want to join our organization." ✨ One aha moment from Joe's approach was his focus on early engagement and personalized outreach. "By getting to know potential recruits early and valuing them, we create a sense of belonging and loyalty. It's a simple yet effective tool that doesn't require a lot of money but makes a significant impact," Joe explained. Joe also highlighted the importance of innovation and thinking outside the box. "I always challenge our team to come up with new ideas. Being open to innovation is crucial for staying ahead in recruitment." Join us at Guardian Alliance Technologies to revolutionize law enforcement recruitment. Discover how our innovative solutions can elevate your hiring process at https://lnkd.in/es_jFB6 Let's shape the future of law enforcement together! #innovativerecruitment #creativeengagement #retentionstrategies #futurelawenforcement #guardian

🚨 We need dedicated employer partners! 🚨 Our goal is to place 1,234 individuals into meaningful jobs by September 2025, and we need your help to make it happen. Driving Social Innovation at American Family Insurance | Advocate for Fair Chance Hiring | Champion of Sustainable & Inclusive Societies
Fair chance hiring isn’t just a policy—it's a pathway to greater diversity, equity, inclusion, and opportunity for 1 in 3 adults in the U.S. workforce. By embracing these practices, we open doors for 80 million individuals with arrest or conviction records in America who are ready to contribute to our workforce as they reintegrate into society. Thank you, Perri Small for a great conversation about #FairChanceHiring and the opportunity to raise awareness on a topic that is so important for businesses, families, and communities, and an issue that is close to my heart. Hiring justice-impacted individuals is crucial to opening doors for workers whose potential to contribute to our economy and our communities is so often overlooked. Let's continue to break down the barriers to employment for justice-impacted individuals and build a future where everyone has the opportunity to succeed. #InclusiveHiring #SocialImpact #FairChanceHiring #PerriSmallShow

As Second Chance Month draws to a close, it's crucial to recognize that our mission of #NormalizingOpportunity for people with records is far from over. There's still significant work ahead to dismantle the complex barriers imposed by our country's policies and systems, and we can't accomplish this alone. We need your support! 🌟 What can you do to normalize opportunity? 🌟 ✔️ Encourage your organization's leadership to explore fair chance hiring policies. ✔️ Support local, state, and federal legislation that advocates for #CleanState and other policies that create equitable economic opportunities for people with records. ✔️ Amplify the experiences of people impacted by the lifelong punishments of a record by sharing their stories with your network and social media followers. ✔️ Volunteer with and support community organizations providing education, training, and reentry services for individuals with records. ✔️ Recognize that 1 in 3 people in the United States has a record of arrest, conviction, or incarceration. These people are our neighbors, our friends, our family members, and the people we encounter every day. ✔️ Acknowledge that just as you've evolved over the years, so have people with records. Nobody is defined solely by their past. As we reflect on the progress made during #SecondChanceMonth 2024, let's also look ahead with renewed determination and commitment. Together, we can forge a future where every individual has the opportunity to thrive. Democracy friends! Each week I save tons of links in my notes app. Articles. Job postings. Funding opportunities. In theory, I plan to read them all… Most of the time, that doesn’t happen. But, I’d like to change that! And share the best things that I find with you. So…(drumroll please)…I’ll be posting a few of my favorites here on LinkedIn each week (or so), and will be sharing even more via Substack (link in the comments). Here’s the first round (all links will be in the comments to avoid clutter): More in Common and the SNF Agora Institute at Johns Hopkins University's report on collective settings and "everyday democracy" was worth reading in full. Great case making for the civic infrastructure where people gather to solve public problems like libraries, parks, and faith institutions. Rachel K.'s piece in The UnPopulist is great for folks curious about how business has fared in far-right populist regimes (like Orbán's Hungary). Some of my fellow former Bain folks may like this one too. Jobs, jobs, jobs! Crankstart is hiring for Democracy & Environment Program Officer (~$170K) and Project Manager (~$185K) roles in SF. The Houston Endowment is hiring a Civic Engagement Program Officer (no salary listed 😡), and ZSR (NC-based) is hiring ~four~ Program Officers (~$115K). What amazing finds am I missing? Lmk below!
