Here’s the scoop! 🍦
This Valve Manifold is one of three that our Design Team have recently designed, and we will be manufacturing soon.
The purpose of these manifolds will be to control six 12-ton tanks that are being installed as part of a process upgrade to a mix plant line that will be used in the production of recognised fruity ice cream treats. The upgrade is required to meet the feed that the new process line requires.
The Valve Manifold has been designed with product integrity at the forefront. These manifolds will incorporate Alfa Laval Seat Clean Mixproof Valves that provide enhanced product safety to uphold the integrity of the ice cream product. Another benefit of the incorporation of these Unique Mixproof Valves is they can cut CIP liquid costs by 90% with the burst seat cleaning function whilst not reducing the overall effectiveness of the clean.
The design of these manifolds will also increase the flexibility of the production line while three of the six tanks are in production emptying to the filling machines, the remaining three will be being cleaned, ready to mix the next batch.
These manifolds will soon be entering the manufacturing stage of the project, where we will be sure to share the next update.

Whisky blending facilities often make use of hoses to provide flexibility when routing fluids from one location to another.
As systems grow over time and additional process routes are added, it is not uncommon for what was initially a simple system design to develop into a complicated network of routes. This can result in a complex array of hoses overlapping one another, sometimes referred to as a “snakepit”, and leads to increased manual handling of heavy hoses alongside an increased risk of trips and falls to any operators working in the area.
The risk of human failure also increases with system complexity, potentially resulting in the misrouting of spirit to the wrong destination.
Solutions such as flow plates or valve matrices can be implemented to remove the hazards associated with hoses whilst still offering the required flexibility.
Our team at IDEA is helping clients to assess their process routing requirements by carrying out Route Matrix Workshops with Operators.
Using this information as the basis for Optioneering, we can then provide an unbiased evaluation of different solutions and carry these forward into Detailed Design.
Our expertise lies in:
✅Evaluation of your process route requirements.
✅ Unbiased Optioneering to investigate potential solutions that meet your requirements.
✅ Detailed Design to deliver a bespoke solution.

Titanium materials find extensive applications in the fields of containers, storage tanks, and shell-and-tube heat exchangers, primarily due to their exceptional corrosion resistance and high strength properties. Firstly, titanium materials are commonly used in the fabrication of storage tanks and containers, particularly for storing corrosive chemicals, acids, alkalis, and the like. Its outstanding corrosion resistance makes it an ideal choice for storing these chemical substances, and its lightweight nature contributes to reducing structural load. Secondly, titanium materials are widely employed in shell-and-tube heat exchangers, essential equipment for heat transfer, especially in the chemical industry where resistance to high temperatures, pressures, and corrosive environments is crucial, ensuring the reliable operation of heat exchangers. Additionally, titanium materials are utilized in the manufacturing of chemical industry equipment, such as reactors, separators, and extractors. These devices require corrosion resistance when handling corrosive chemicals, and titanium materials can maintain their performance in harsh chemical environments, ensuring process stability and durability. In conclusion, the broad application of titanium materials in containers, storage tanks, and shell-and-tube heat exchangers provides reliable solutions across various industries, ensuring equipment operates reliably and remains durable in corrosive environments. One of our fast-growing clients in the food processing industry faced significant challenges with their aeromechanical conveyors. These conveyors were causing severe issues, including:
🔧 Contamination: Fraying and breaking cables introduced metallic fragments into the product, leading to high contamination and product rejection rates.
🔧 Maintenance: Constant clogging and jamming required frequent maintenance, resulting in regular shutdowns.
As a solution, we provided a game-changing Hapman Tubular Drag Conveyor, Series “C”. These conveyors use high-strength, stainless steel log chains, which eliminate the typical cable system issues such as flaking, fraying, and breaking.
🏆 Result?
➡️ Zero Contamination: no more metal fragments in the final product.
➡️ Continuous Operation: 24/7 operation without any clogging, jamming, or shutdowns.
➡️ Improved Efficiency: Elimination of maintenance shutdowns and complete return on investment within a few months.
Our client’s plant operations team is thrilled with these results, and we continue to support them by providing further improvements! 🌟

Current methods used to work on gas lines can be time-consuming, require a variety of tools, and are prone to human error🚫
We recently announced the launch of Paktermo by Instantor, a range of corrugated stainless steel tube and fittings, which when combined create a push-fit solution for gas systems.🔥
We caught up with Ken to explore the benefits Paktermo by Instantor fittings offer when compared to traditional fittings…
👉No split rings & no PTFE tape needed.
👉Simply push fittings into place and tighten, saving up to 70% on install time.
👉Fittings include a rubber seal & an olive with grips. Once tightened, this will compress the fitting onto the pipe.
👉Fittings can be reused & include an 8mm spacer which allows you to push the pipe into place efficiently.
A game changer when it comes to gas systems… Available to shop now from builders merchants and plumbing stores.

At the crossroads of industrial fittings, two common questions often surface: What sets intermixing apart from interchanging, and is either practice acceptable? Let's break it down.
But the second question is where debates ignite. Our stance is unequivocal: NEVER intermix or interchange fittings.

"What is the difference between intermixing and interchanging fittings? Is it OK to do either?"
We often receive both of these questions. The answer to the first one is fairly simple: See the graphic above.
The answer to the second question is more often debated, but our position is clear: Never intermix OR interchange fittings.
For more information on intermix, interchange, and why these practices are problematic, read our full article. https://bit.ly/3C6BlCl
