So once again inundated with resume responses that include: "Go here and take this personality test" Great! Except one thing. You have to add your birthdate and then send a screen shot of your results. The birthdate is clearly visable with your results. "Then send us a short video on why you would be the perfect candidate" Great again..Hopefully you're young enough to play along and pass (Under 40) Both practices seem to be very guilty of direct and indirect discrimination. Ageism seems to be out in full force. These sneaky, stealth pre-hiring practices seem to be happening more and more. I don't know whether these "recruiters" don't understand the laws against age discrimination or are just not versed in enough in their positions, not to adapt such procedures. It seems like a very slippery slope. To be frank, these personality tests cannot possibly be the only matrix on which you are weighing a candidate or not. Education and experience should be in the forefront. Not just if you can "tell us the next number in the pattern" or "are you more like this or that". Honestly...I stop applying and will withdraw my application from most companies that have adopted these practices. It truly is not a company that matches my values nor would I want to work for a company whose HR specialists try to circumvent EEOC and the ADEA!
