Dr. Jane Goodall's inspirational message, "Every individual matters. Every individual has a role to play. Every individual makes a difference," resonates deeply with me. One of the reasons Dr. Goodall is my idol is her ability to connect with the masses through communicating in a manner that ignites unity rather than sparks division. She understands that to create lasting change, we have to understand the whole picture. If animal welfare and conservation is the goal, than we must ensure the communities living nearby have access to education and resources to be able to support themselves. As an example of this approach, Dr. Goodall created the Roots & Shoots program which empowers young people to take action against the intersection of biodiversity loss, environmental inequity, and climate change. Roots & Shoots helps young people harness this energy and become the community leaders not just of tomorrow, but of today. I believe that communication and marketing require more than just sharing your message, but about empowering others to take action so they too can make a positive difference for themselves and those around them. The more we communicate the positive outcomes of action, the more we inspire momentum. And as the law of physics states, objects in motion, stay in motion. How we approach communication is simply a gentle push in the right direction.
