The need for plant-forward options in federal facilities has never been clearer: With research showing that sustainability and health are increasingly on the minds of consumers, government facilities are uniquely positioned to set an example by leading the way. That is why this past September, PBFA Foodservice Director, Hannah Lopez, teamed up with the Environmental Working Group, Friends of the Earth, Health Care Without Harm, and Martinsburg, Virginia Veterans Affairs to host a webinar detailing the need for plant-forward food service in federal facilities. Building resilience in the food system will not only require a wholesale shift in how we do the work of growing, moving, and selling food (plus everything in between and beyond), but also a shift in culture through the narratives that are being lifted up and celebrated. The New England Feeding New England: Regional Approach to Food System Resilience report is one of those tools that will help ground the work and narratives needed moving forward.   All New England food system communicators, communications-adjacent folks, and anyone actively working on narrative are encouraged to join the Food Solutions New England (FSNE) Northeast Food System Communicators Community of Practice and the New England Food System Planners Partnership (NEFSPP) for a New England Feeding New England Narrative Discussion:   Wednesday, October 11 | 10am to 12pm Participation is free but registration is required: https://lnkd.in/eGbfdfhs There will be a brief presentation on the New England Feeding New England: Regional Approach to Food System Resilience report with a focus on narrative. An interactive discussion will then follow with the goals of talking through the narratives presented, strategizing about how to use them in day-to-day work, and providing feedback and insights grounded in the community work of participants.   This time is intended for communicators, communication-adjacent folks, or anyone actively working on narrative in their day-to-day work.
