A huge part of SupplyChange LLC's work is solving values-based institutional procurement. Institutions need pre-fabricated, well-sourced foods. Preps--or pre-cuts that are partially cooked--are an innovation that "solves labor in every kitchen." Eve Cohen of Marcellus Foods is leading the way on this. That's why Marcellus is at the center of the Yolo Food Hub Network and will drive the change we need for CA (and nationwide) foodservice transformation.

We appreciate your patience as we got together our Food Resources list for the month of May 2024. All locations will be closed on May 27th, 2024. Please share with your networks. Friends dont let friends be hungry. There are some new food resource sites as well as slight changes to other locations that have been made so please look closely to confirm the nearest food bank or mobile pantry location to you and that you have the most updated time and address. Please note that all food bank and mobile pantry locations only operate as long as supplies last so to ensure your best chances of being served we recommend arriving at least 15-20 minutes early to your location of choice. We appreciate the staff and volunteers at each of these locations who dedicate their time and labor to ensuring our communities have access to food. Unless specific dates are listed, locations operate on a weekly basis. Let's play... What's in the Box?! This is our food box from our July program 😍 Of course, you can't see everything, but there is sooo much in there! Picking our food is done with kids in mind- what they like to eat, what they need, and what they can prepare for themselves. We always want to include food kids WANT to eat, including fun snacks like Bits and Bites or a yummy pack of cookies. Everybody deserves a sweet treat! When discussing food insecurity it is important to remember: we want children to be FED! A child needs to eat, even if: - they don't have a parent present to cook for them - they don't have access to many cooking tools - they don't have an oven or microwave - they are a picky eater Discussions of health are important, but ensuring children get to eat is the main priority. Ensuring fresh fruit and vegetables in a key component for both or summer and school year programs to help children get the vitamins they need.
