The event is June 6-8, but let's break that schedule down ⬇️ It's officially a three-day event, but check out the breakdown of what each day looks like commitment-wise. Thursday, June 6 - Trivia Competition at Naked River Brewing Co. from 5-8 PM - You'll only need to send 5 people to represent the company, although you're welcome to bring more to cheerlead/support/have some drinks Friday, June 7 - Bowling Competition at Spare Time from 12:30 PM - 4:30 PM - You'll send 5-10 people to represent the company on the bowling team. You can pick a time from 12:30 PM - 4:30 PM to stop by, whatever your team prefers. Saturday, June 8 - The Field Day Event at Finley Stadium and First Horizon Pavilion - Officially 7:30 AM - 4 PM - This is the day you want the entire company to come out. It's way more fun if you have everyone come out and stay/tailgate all day, but if you have employees who need to pop in and out, they are welcome to. Corporate Challenge is flexible so people can still participate even if they can't stay all day. It's also family-friendly - families are more than welcome to come out and support, although they cannot physically participate in the challenges.

Merchiston has a rich heritage of sporting excellence, and for good reason - our students truly love sport. We strive to cultivate genuine enjoyment in movement and exercise, teaching pupils about the many and varied benefits of participating in physical activity. For us here at Merchiston, far more important than ranking in league tables (although that doesn't hurt) is the confidence, resilience, camaraderie, team spirit and motivation boys gain from sports. Last week at a luncheon, a few old mates (Denis Pagan, Dr Harry Unglik & Wayne Carey) of the North Melbourne FC 1996 Premiership Team gathered to celebrate Corey McKernan’s 50th birthday. The occasion turned into a journey through time, revisiting football victories, pivotal moments, fun times, resilience and the development of life principles forged over the past 25 years. Conversations shifted to nostalgic reflections as memories flowed, victories were recounted and the challenging times that have been life shaping. The parallels between past sporting principles and present-day realities became evident. The key messages that resonated were the importance of principles like accountability, discipline, hard work, belonging and the need for a vision. All proving to be pivotal for their success at the time. The notion of vision emerged as a significant aspect of this success and a driving force in sport, business and life. The celebration transformed into a living testament to the enduring nature of these principles, living philosophies which shaped their journeys. Massive congrats to Cricket Australia on yet another remarkable World Cup campaign; I am always amazed by the sheer dominance of the Australian Cricket team (both men and women) at the world's biggest cricketing stage. In particular, business leaders can learn a massive deal from their breathtaking win last night, including; -You may be underdogs on paper, and you are up against all the odds in the world, yet what matters is to keep calm and tick along. -There may be 100,000 strong voices against you, but what matters is your inner voice and the trust you place in your skills. -Think ahead, plan ahead and execute those without any fear;  I haven't seen any cricket captain in the game's history have had better field placement than Pat Cummins last night. At one point, it felt as if Cummins was reading opposition batters' minds. -Give all you have as your life depends on it; The backward running catch by Travis Head turned the tables, and some breathtaking ground fielding that followed up was simply remarkable. It was clear, it was a survival game and everyone was contributing 150%. -Be agile;  Cummins didn't allow any opposition batter in the middle overs to settle by changing bowling options and keeping the variation. This agility was decisive. The cheers are fading, and the dust is settling, but the spirit of the Vinsys Premier League still thrives! As an avid cricket fan myself, I know the magic this sport holds. We saw colleagues break down departmental barriers, cheer loudly for teammates, and discover strengths they never knew they had. These bonds don't fade with the final whistle.
