My colleagues in government are seeking input from the public (that's YOU!) about "making it easier for the public to engage with their Government, and to harnessing their knowledge, needs, and lived experiences to improve how Government works for them and with them." There is an open call for public comment (where you can be very descriptive) as well as a form for those who prefer that format for feedback. Please take some time to give your thoughts about engaging with and improving government, and please share this with individuals and organizations in your network. https://lnkd.in/gG8KfHAA

In the hands of a skilled team, the right tools transform potential into reality, turning goals into achievements. In the heart of our journey toward bridging the gap between public needs and private innovation lies the fundamental belief that understanding and empathy are the bedrocks of meaningful progress. As we navigate this path, we must remember that at the core of state government are communities with diverse needs, hopes, and dreams. It is our responsibility, as leaders and catalysts for change, to correctly identify the needs of our state agencies, and translate this knowledge into actionable insights. Explore the competitive landscape within the MyFloridaMarketplace platform and you will discover a staggering 146,466 active vendors, all aiming to secure state contracts. Drawing from years of close collaborations with state and local government leaders, it’s safe to guesstimate that a vast majority—around 90%—of these entities rely on traditional, and less effective, strategies such as cold calls, unsolicited emails, media articles, unreliable data, vendor booths, and industry hearsay to advance their go-to-market strategy. This is exactly the challenge the Florida Technology Council addresses for our members. In our approach to strategic engagement, FTC members stand out by doing their homework on an agency's specific needs well before any meetings are scheduled. This contrasts sharply with the common practice where others enter discussions unprepared, leading with the generic and always unhelpful question, "What problems keep you up at night?" Our method ensures meaningful dialogue from the start, paving the way for more productive outcomes for agency, industry, and those we serve. #floridatech #stategovernment #publicsectorinnovation
