Proud to share our latest blog post, diving deep into the critical need to enhance maternal healthcare across the U.S., especially for marginalized communities. The data speaks volumes—over 80% of maternal deaths in the U.S. are preventable, and yet the current fragmentation of our healthcare systems leaves too many mothers and babies at risk. The blog highlights the urgent need for comprehensive prenatal care, supported by digital innovation and telehealth, to bridge the gap in access and ensure every mother receives the care she deserves. From addressing common causes of hospitalization during pregnancy to showcasing the positive impact of Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) and telehealth, we explore how early intervention and continuous monitoring can lead to healthier outcomes for mothers and babies alike. This is more than just a healthcare issue; it's a societal imperative. By investing in quality prenatal care and leveraging technology, we can not only save lives but also reduce the economic burden of maternal morbidity, which currently costs the U.S. $32.3 billion annually. Let's continue to push for a healthcare system that works for everyone, ensuring that no mother is left behind. Read the full blog to learn more about the steps we can take to make a real difference in maternal health outcomes. https://lnkd.in/gipWeGG9 #MaternalHealth #PrenatalCare #HealthEquity #Telehealth #DigitalHealth #HealthcareInnovation

Interesting study by Pulsenmore and Kaiser Permanente showing potential of remote care to replace in person #prenatal visits. The study confirms that remote prenatal care provides same outcomes plus #convenience and #flexibility for patients; it also allows access to care for #disadvantaged population. Very important findings given poor #maternal outcomes in remote areas and for minorities in the US.

💡 Understanding the Importance of FSH Testing in Women's Health Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH) plays a crucial role in women's reproductive health and fertility. Testing FSH levels provides essential insights that can guide healthcare decisions and improve patient outcomes. At Lepzi Diagnostika Ltd., we recognize the critical role of accurate and timely diagnostics, which is why we offer a point-of-care FSH test that delivers quantitative results in less than 15 minutes using urine samples. 🩺 Why Test FSH Levels? ✔Fertility Assessment: FSH levels help evaluate ovarian reserve, which is critical for understanding a woman's fertility potential. High FSH levels may indicate a reduced number of viable eggs. ✔Menstrual Cycle Regulation: FSH is key in regulating the menstrual cycle. Testing can help diagnose conditions like Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and other menstrual irregularities. ✔ Menopause and Perimenopause: Elevated FSH levels can signal the transition into menopause, aiding in the management of symptoms and overall health during this stage. ✔Diagnosing Reproductive Disorders: Abnormal FSH levels can indicate reproductive issues such as ovarian failure or hypogonadism, guiding further diagnostic and treatment plans. 🔬 Benefits of FSH Testing: ✔Timely Interventions: Quick and accurate results enable timely medical interventions, crucial for managing reproductive health. ✔Personalised Care: FSH testing supports personalised treatment plans in assisted reproductive technologies (ART) like IVF, improving the chances of success. ✔Comprehensive Health Management: Monitoring FSH levels provides a comprehensive view of a woman's reproductive health, aiding in early detection and management of various conditions. Our Lepzi FSH test is designed to support healthcare practitioners in delivering efficient and personalized care, enhancing patient outcomes. 🌍 Join us in advancing women's health diagnostics with innovative technology! hashtag #FSH #Urine_Quantitative_Test #PointOfCareTesting #WomensHealth #HealthcareInnovation #MedicalDiagnostics #LepziLtd For more information, visit our website 🌍 www.lepzi.com or contact us at 📧 enquiries@lepzi.com

We’re proud to see Dr. Jamie Stanhiser, a board-certified physician and reproductive endocrinologist at RPSD, featured in First For Women, shedding light on the complexities of endometriosis. “Endometriosis is an inflammatory gynecologic disease when tissue that normally lines the uterus grows in places outside of the uterus—typically in the pelvis—where it does not belong,” Dr. Stanhiser explains. We applaud Dr. Stanhiser for her dedication to advancing awareness and providing compassionate care to those impacted by endometriosis. Together, we can empower individuals to take control of their reproductive health and find the care they deserve. Maternal Health deserves far more attention than it currently receives. Shortcomings in patient outcomes are often due to insufficient research, leading to inadequate treatment, medication, and long-term follow-up. Briya's #MaternalHealth dataset features over 400,000 mother-child records from Israel, one of the leading countries in maternal and #ChildCare. No other nation offers the same diversity, an average fertility rate of 2.93 births per woman, and outstanding health indicators. This unique combination generates a wealth of data, making Briya’s dataset a valuable resource for researchers and pharmaceutical manufacturers. Read our new blog to discover why Briya’s data is a key element in advancing maternal health research: https://lnkd.in/dTEFse7y

They say that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. In aggregate, that's true, and demonstrates very nicely the overall mission of public health. In some cases though, the value of prevention is so high relative to that of cure that, rather like dividing by zero, the ratio is incalculable. In such situations, even one case of illness represents a failure of the system. Congenital syphilis (CS), the infection of an infant by an improperly or untreated mother is one such case. Cooper and Sanchez, in Seminars in Perinatology, say that EVERY case of congenital syphilis is a failure of the public health system. That's because with adequate prenatal testing, up to three tests recommended for at-risk pregnant women, and adequate treatment--injections of bicillin, no infant should have to face the crippling and even deadly consequences of CS. Children born with CS face crippling physical deformity, developmental disability, palsy, blindness, and even death. While they can be treated and cured of syphilis, its effects are often lifelong. The inadequacy of prenatal care in the United States compared to other developed nations is well documented on many fronts. In the face of a rapidly swelling epidemic of syphilis among women aged 15-44 nationwide, however, it is specifically performing inadequately to prevent CS. Across the nation, cases rose 754% between 2012 and 2021, and continue to rise sharply, with 3,755 cases reported in 2022, or 102.5 per 100,000 live births. Among the most vulnerable populations, such as Alaskan Indian/American Indians, the number approaches a staggering 1 out of every 100 live births. Every one of those cases is somebody's precious child, and each case is ultimately preventable with a greater, awareness, effort, and investment in prenatal care. Easier said than done, I know, but we must start somewhere. Prevention is possible, can be relatively painless, and can work every time. An ounce of it in this case, cures the whole thing. #publichealth #phep #sti #std #syphilis #congenitalsyphilis #mch #maternalandchildhealth #healthcare

We are pleased to share the findings of an insightful prospective observational study by Drs P Siva Ranjani Priya, Maimoona Ahmed, and Prathiba Reddy titled, “Maternal and Perinatal Outcomes in Twins: Spontaneously Conceived vs. ART-Conceived.” This research highlights significant differences in maternal and perinatal outcomes between twins conceived naturally and those conceived via Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART).✨ The study reveals that ART-conceived twin pregnancies show a higher incidence of maternal complications, including hypertension and gestational diabetes, along with an increased risk of premature birth.💛 These findings contribute crucial insights to the growing body of research on fertility treatments and multifetal pregnancies, offering valuable guidance for prenatal care strategies and improving maternal and neonatal health outcomes. 🗞️Read the full paper here: https://lnkd.in/dBgD9MWi #TwinPregnancy #AssistedReproductiveTechnologies #MaternalHealth #PerinatalOutcomes #FertilityResearch #NeonatalHealth #PrenatalCare #MultifetalPregnancies #ResearchFindings #TwinsStudy
