It’s always better to focus on the solution instead of the problem, and that’s exactly what the new R370 million shopping mall coming to Meyerton next year plans to do.
Riverstone Mall will have 53 retail tenants, including Checkers Fresh-X, Woolworths Food, Dischem,Clicks, Truworths, Mr Price and the Pepkor Group. And, it will also feature a food court, and two fast-food drive-thru outlets.
Best of all is that all of these shops will be able to continue serving their customers during loadshedding.
Riverstone Mall will be equipped with a 1908Kva rooftop solar plant and a battery backup of 4800Kwh, which means that it will be able to operate for up to four hours without power from the grid or any noisy diesel generators.
Besides this, the new development will also create 1,200 jobs during the construction phase and an estimated 250 permanent jobs. And, as always, a new development means a positive effect on the property market in Meyerton and will provide the community with a more convenient place to shop.
It just goes to show that there’s no point in dwelling on problems like loadshedding; you just need to find a way around them.
