Is gynecomastia covered under any mediclaim for government schemes in India as on 2024? https://lnkd.in/dSmFhcsh Having larger breasts can be highly upsetting for a man. However, the growth of breast tissues in men does not usually result in health problems. Patients rarely receive claim acceptance for male breast reduction surgery since insurance companies do not consider emotional factors when giving reimbursement for a specific ailment or treatment. To have the procedure covered by health insurance or mediclaim, a patient must meet certain conditions. The criteria are as follows: 1.) The patient should have glandular and fat tissue growth, or solely glandular tissue growth. The procedure is deemed aesthetic if the patient has pseudogynecomastia (just fat tissues). 2.) The patient must be an adult who has had the illness for at least two years. 3.) The problem has progressed to levels II, III, or IV. 4.) Breast enlargement causes pain, discomfort, and problems with posture, among other things. 5.) The patient has stopped using the drugs or treatments that caused the hormonal imbalance that causes gynecomastia in the first place. 6.) Despite addressing the root cause, the problem continued. 7.) Klinefelter Syndrome is to blame for the hypertrophy. 8.) Cancerous tissue growth has occurred. 9.) In all of the cases listed above, patients can easily obtain permission from health insurance providers and receive the greatest quality therapy without worrying about the cost.
