Another addition to my publication list - my third paper as part of my PhD has been published. This research explores the fascinating world of phytosterol requirements by the devastating plant pathogen Phytophthora cinnamomi, specifically focusing on sterol sensing, recruitment, and conversion. The paper, titled “Sterol complex visualisation in Phytophthora cinnamomi and expression analysis of genes involved in sterol sensing, recruitment, and conversion,” highlights the importance of sterols in the growth and reproduction of this pathogen, alongside identification of genes encoding for sterol-sensing domain containing proteins (SCPs) and beta-cinnamomin. A recent article presents #evidence that challenges the commonly accepted belief that #GPR30 is a direct estrogen #receptor.
