The most common route of transfer of oral microbes into gut/brain is the reduced efficiency of Gingival epithelial barrier. It is presumed to be linked to chronic inflammation and/or certain nutritional deficiencies. We need to identify them. However, the key takeaway is a healthy mouth is imperative for a healthy body.
