Social Skills Occupational Therapy: Some children have difficulty with play and social skills such as turn taking, sharing, playing in a group or with peers. Pediatric occupational therapy services can focus on helping children develop or improve these social and play skills. Some other areas that a pediatric occupational therapist can focus on include: visual skills (visual tracking, visual perception, visual discrimination, etc.), attention to non-preferred tasks, sequencing and planning tasks, and retained primitive reflexes. #socialskills #occupationaltherapy #occupationaltherapist #occupationaltherapystudent #occupationaltherapyforchildren #occupationaltherapyforkids

😃 Joke alert: #occupationaltherapy the other #nursing profession. I have worked with both professions for more then 2 decades. When I meet high school or undergrad students who ask me about nursing I follow the question by asking, what care do they want to provide the patient. Often they describe OT related tasks. Notable note... An informed decision is the best decision.Either profession is a great choice. #nursing doesn't really need an indepth explanation. Thank you for all you do! #occupationaltherapy makes a great choice for anyone who took #specialeducation #pyschology #art #earlychildhoodeducation #anthropology(mignt be a stretch depending on your specialty) OT, what I consider the mind body connection in healthcare. #ota #findyourmatch

Our occupational therapist can examine the tasks facing your kiddo on a daily basis and determine what is affecting the child’s ability to perform these tasks. Such tasks include self-care skills, social interaction with peers, fine motor skills for completion of age-appropriate craft or school skills, strength, and endurance to be able to participate in age-appropriate motor activities. Through standardized testing and fun, engaging activities, pediatric occupational therapy can help your kiddo achieve their maximum potential through adaptation, environmental modification, and practice of newly acquired skills. Square Peg OT’s use meaningful activity and exercise to help your child develop and strengthen fine motor skills, gross motor skills and self care skills to be as independent as possible. If your child needs our services, we will work closely with you to select the best individualized therapies for them, creating a customized program specific to your child’s needs and your family’s goals. . . #squarepegtherapies #occupationaltherapy #selfcareskills #socialinteraction #peerinteraction #finemotorskills #schoolskills #strengthandendurance #standardizedtesting #engagingactivities #maximumpotential #individualizedtherapy #customizrdprogram #familygoals

This month, 𝐨𝐜𝐜𝐮𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬 are receiving recognition, yet there's still a lack of understanding about our profession and our role. For decades, crafting a concise elevator pitch that fully captures what an occupational therapist does has been our aim. Let's view the definition as an ongoing project. Shoutout to @cari.ebert.seminars for coining the term "brain architects" for pediatric therapists! How else would you define an occupational therapist? #OTMonth #ILoveOT #AOTA #PedsOT

Occupational therapists and physical therapists hold distinct roles in patient care. While physical therapists focus primarily on improving patients' movement, strength, and physical function, occupational therapists concentrate on helping patients perform daily activities and tasks crucial to their lifestyle and work. This differentiation ensures that therapy is comprehensive, addressing both the physical and practical aspects of patient rehabilitation and well-being. #occupationaltherapy #OT #PhysicalTherapy #PT #OccupationalTherapyMonth #OTMonth
