Last week, we were honored to have Nevada Lieutenant Governor Stavros Anthony join us at the Dragonfly Energy headquarters in Reno, Nevada, for a tour of our manufacturing facility. Dr. Denis Phares walked the Lieutenant Governor through the step-by-step process of assembling our product line of lithium iron phosphate Battle Born Batteries. Thanks for paying Dragonfly Energy a visit, Lieutenant Governor Stavros Anthony!

Small Modular Reactors as Saskatchewan‘s source of green energy are moving closer to deployment. Placing Saskatchewan’s first SMR at Estevan is logical as it will phase out the current coal-based electrical generation infrastructure. This is great news for the city! To have closed the mines would have crippled the community. What must be now considered is the middle part of the nuclear supply chain - converting the uranium feedstock obtained from Saskatchewan’s mines into the fuel used by the province’s SMRs. Imagine - a “Net Carbon Zero” province!
Premier Scott Moe made the announcement Thursday night in Estevan.

It's sad to see that, Solway CPC have the six billion pounds of funding lined up - ready to commit now to building Rolls-Royce SMR in West Cumbria, with a clear strategy on social value and giving back to the community. But the Government is centralising decisions on a new, more flexible and investable technology via Great British Nuclear who are developing a 'process' similar to that for large scale nuclear. The Nuclear Minister Andrew Bowie was off in the USA talking about fusion this week (always many years away) and Rishi Sunak seems completely oblivious to the great work being done in West Cumbria. The greatest hold-up to unlocking SMR's in the UK is the Government itself... As my rant of the week has been - we seem obsessed with having a process in this country, whether you're dealing with the NHS, your council or even most large private companies. People only seem to care that a process is followed, there's no regard for the outcome or what most people would view as common sense... Cumberland Council #nuclear #smr #cumbria
In his first speech to Parliament as Monarch, King Charles has today reiterated Government’s commitment to “strengthen the UK’s energy security and reduce reliance on volatile international energy markets”. The King went on to say: “My Ministers will seek to attract record levels of investment in renewable energy sources…building on the UK’s track record of decarbonising faster than other G7 economies.” In Solway, and potentially in other regions too, we have billions of pounds of private investment lined up and nuclear capability ready to develop and build SMRs. Without cost or risk to the taxpayer, we are ready to help enable not only the decarbonisation and the energy security the King mentions, but also enormous social value - the new industry, jobs and revenues attracted by a surplus of clean, always-on energy - for decades to come. His Majesty spoke this morning in future terms but, with Government agreement, we could convert these critical intentions into tangible action overnight.

Last week, during the NDIA DVC Nuclear Naval Submarine and Aircraft Carrier Supplier Conference, the inaugural Technology Review Panel was held, focused on the transformative impact and adoption of additive manufacturing. Moderated by Dr. Larry Schuette, our panel of Dr. Marty Irvine, Ph.D, Jennifer Wolk, Ph. D, Mohammad Ehteshami, and Giorgio Olivieri dove deep into the ways additive manufacturing can and has revolutionized design and manufacturing processes. Their perspectives, drawing from both the Navy and Industry, illuminated the intersections of science, technology, certification, acceptance, and the innovative capability and increased capacity these tools bring to shop floors. From insights into the cutting-edge initiatives of ONR and the technical rigor at NSWC/NUWC to the industry perspectives of Beehive Industries and Meltio, the panelists covered a spectrum of knowledge. The collaboration and connections forged during this review are bound to have a lasting impact on our Navy's shipbuilding and sustainment needs. The exchange of ideas and expertise showcased the power of bringing diverse voices together to drive progress. As we navigate the ever-evolving landscape of naval shipbuilding, it's clear that additive manufacturing is a key player in shaping the future. A huge thank you to our panelists and participants for contributing to this invaluable discussion! #NDIADVC #AdditiveManufacturing #NavalShipbuilding #Buildsubmarines #Beehiveindustries #Meltio

❝Without a robust energy strategy and formidable response to aggression, how long can democracy endure?❞ Internal divisions are threatening the once-steadfast Western support for Ukraine. As the Kremlin and its allies attempt to capitalise on this and leverage their resource advantages, NATO and the EU must resist by adopting a unified energy framework. ⬇ Read the Critical Thinking article from Maurizio Geri (PhD), Former NATO analyst, Italian Navy Lieutenant POLAD reservist, postdoctoral researcher at the George Mason University and EU Marie Curie Fellow, below. #CriticalThinking #NATOEU #WashingtonSummit

Fort Bliss in Texas is one of the largest U.S. military bases, covering about 1,700 square miles. Home to the U.S. Army’s 1st Armored Division, it is also a site for the Pentagon’s efforts to develop clean energy generation and microgrids for delivering electricity at its installations. Sage Geosystems Inc., a Houston-based developer of geothermal energy and storage technologies, has a Department of Defense contract to examine the feasibility of installing a geothermal power system for Ft. Bliss. The U.S. Army Climate Strategy has a target of reducing greenhouse gasses from its facilities by 50% by 2030 (with a net-zero goal by 2050) and installing a microgrid on every base by 2035 in order to enhance energy security. ❝Russia and China are well positioned to leverage their resource advantages, hindering Europe’s energy goals.❞ The energy sector has become a new, and critical, battleground in international conflict. As the Kremlin and its allies leverage their resource advantages to destabilise and sow division among Ukraine's allies, NATO and the EU still lack a unified energy framework. This must be addressed urgently. ⬇ Read the Critical Thinking article from Maurizio Geri (PhD) Geri, Former NATO analyst, Italian Navy Lieutenant POLAD reservist, postdoctoral researcher at the George Mason University and EU Marie Curie Fellow, below. #CriticalThinking #NATOEU #WashingtonSummit
