We are so thrilled to be getting ready to welcome organisations and individuals across Cumberland for our Stars of Tomorrow Ball. Together with Cumbria Youth Alliance and Inspira, we're hosting a special event to launch the Enrichment Fund - a bursary for our cared for and care experienced young people to have opportunities they wouldn't otherwise have. We're deeply grateful to everyone who has contributed to the fund and we're excited to welcome you this evening!

New board members and a Chair - David Beeby - have been appointed to the recently formed Enterprising Cumbria as part of its ambitious plans to form a Cumbria Economic Growth Board. Enterprising Cumbria is taking on the function and purpose of the previous Cumbria Local Enterprise Partnership (CLEP) and will provide a powerful voice for a diverse array of businesses and organisations across the Cumbrian footprint. Our Leader, Cllr Mark Fryer, has welcomed the appointments. He said: “This is an exciting time for Cumbria, and I am delighted that we have a new Economic Growth Board in place. I welcome them all and thank them for committing their time to help us develop and grow Cumberland and Westmorland & Furness’s economies. We want to make the most of the wealth of opportunities our region offers.” Find out more ⬇ https://lnkd.in/ebpyENZn

As we bid farewell to summer, we are excited to share some highlights of the incredible community initiatives our Carlisle Southern Link Road (CSLR) project team has been involved in over the summer. 🦺 Nurturing Future Engineers: We had the pleasure of hosting a diverse group of students for summer placements, providing them with hands-on experience on a major project. It's wonderful to see how these opportunities have solidified their passion for civil engineering. We're proud to have played a part in shaping their future careers and can't wait to see the impact they'll make in the industry. 💚 Greening Local Spaces: In partnership with People Plant Trees, our team tackled an overgrown bamboo area in a local school. Thanks to the efforts of Galliford Try, our principal contractor, and their subcontractors, they transformed the space into an open area ready for tree planting this winter. It's amazing what can be achieved when we come together for our community! 🛠 Revitalising Youth Spaces: As part of the Give a Day initiative, we dedicated time to Carlisle Youth Zone. Our team rolled up their sleeves, planting flowers, weeding, and even moving sheds. It's rewarding to know that their efforts will enable local young people to enjoy this revitalised space once again. We are incredibly proud of the CSLR team for their commitment to making a real difference in our community. These initiatives not only enhance our local area but also strengthen the bonds within our team and with the people we serve. #CommunityEngagement #CivilEngineering #SocialResponsibility #CSLR
