We are putting a spotlight on childhood lung health this morning with a session at #ERSCongress. Aimed at patients, professionals and policymakers, the workshop presents an opportunity to engage in important, EU policy-shaping discussion. It will look at how we can ensure that childhood lung health is placed higher up on the political and public health agenda. Lung disease is often seen as a condition of the elderly. However, we know that damage to lung health begins in the womb and that childhood exposures can cause long-term lung disease. By focusing on childhood health, we can encourage the next generation to make good choices around lung health. Alongside this focus, the European Lung Foundation is also establishing a youth working group to ensure that young people are engaged in policy discussion at the European level.
