“Do Early Careers at AAA exist?” First, let me break it down for you - Early Careers refers to the initial stage of a person's professional life, usually within the first years after completing or during their education. On another note, Early Careers is a broader term for the first several professional years, but internship can be a sub-part of Early Careers. Sometimes, internships aren't exclusively for students or recent grads. Yes, even during these hard times, there's a ray of hope for those with ZERO EXPERIENCE to find a job in the gaming industry. Here is the amazing list Eva Piatrushina has collected: Epic Games https://lnkd.in/dNW5YPWW Electronic Arts (EA) https://lnkd.in/dv5-WKuQ Blizzard Entertainment https://lnkd.in/dduaFC8v Ubisoft https://lnkd.in/dRyXXbqm Microsoft https://lnkd.in/dfGWs3xZ

I recently applied to the Riot Games software engineering internship for Summer of 2025. I spent hours doing write-ups to the essay prompts in the application. I got feedback from industry veterans on my resume. I carefully curated a cover letter to submit with my application. In spite of all of this, I was not accepted. It is not surprising and not personal, the industry is in an insanely challenging position right now, it seems. I was tempted to feel dejected or discouraged when I initially received the rejection email. My mind was quickly broadening the scope of this news, interpreting it to mean things like: "You are not cut out for game development." "The industry is impossible right now, you'll never find a job." "This is a pipe dream, your goals are unrealistic." "Why even bother?" It took me a day or two to process the news and that is when I realized that little to nothing about my circumstances, skill set, tenacity, experience, or professional opportunities have changed. I chose and committed to learning and bettering myself. I am taking this rejection as feedback and fuel. Motivation to continue elevating skills, pursuing relevant education, building connections within the industry, and contributing to teams in making great experiences for players any opportunity that I get. To the experienced industry peers who have been in the business of making games for the long haul: I am committed to remaining open to feedback. If you have advice, insight, job opportunities, or resources for me, I will happily look into anything you send my way. To anybody else who was not accepted for the Riot internship or has limited experience and is struggling within this job market to find their place in game dev: We can do this and we should stick together! If you need encouragement, support, or any other resources I can give, please feel free to connect and/or message me and I am happy to chat. 📷 : My main League of Legends champion pick Ekko with my personal favorite skin (True Damage Ekko).

So, Riot Games recently opened their Summer Internship applications. 👀 To all current Students aiming to apply: A REJECTION DOES NOT DEFINE YOUR WORTH. 👏👏👏 The Industry is in a tough space right now, and a lot of us are only at the beginning of it. Keep Networking. 🤝 Keep applying to open positions. 😎 But NEVER let those automated rejection emails determine whether or not you're good enough to work in Games. 🔥 All it takes is one Recruiter willing to take a chance. 😄 #GameIndustry #GameDevelopment #Internship #Opportunity #EntryLevel #Hiring #Student #Community #Network #OpenToNetwork #Marketing #Jobseekers #Resource #Support #MentalHealth #Art

Do Early Careers at AAA exist? 👩🎓 First, I need to explain that Early Careers typically refers to the initial stage of a person's professional life, typically within the first years after completing OR during their education (associate, bachelor's, master's, Ph.D., or equivalent). By the way, Early Careers is a broader term for the first several professional years, but internship can be a sub-part of Early Careers. Sometimes internships are not only for students and fresh ex-students. 🎮 And yes, even during these hard times there is a light for people with ZERO EXPERIENCE to find a job in the gaming industry. Here is the list of some: Electronic Arts (EA) https://lnkd.in/dv5-WKuQ Blizzard Entertainment https://lnkd.in/dduaFC8v Ubisoft https://lnkd.in/dRyXXbqm Epic Games https://lnkd.in/dNW5YPWW Microsoft https://lnkd.in/dfGWs3xZ Are you a student looking for a job with no experience now? Or can you share your story of search? P.S. It is Friday, so you can drop a fun meme in the comments for a good mood! #gamingindustry #gamedevelopment #earlycareers #job

Yesterday, I had the amazing opportunity to participate in an online Q&A with employees from Mojang Studios and Microsoft. It was my first time hearing directly from people within the Big Tech community, and it was incredibly insightful. They shared their experiences and advice for aspiring game developers and tech professionals, especially those interested in internships. Two key takeaways stuck out to me: · The Power of Diversity: One point that really resonated with me was the emphasis on diversity in tech teams. It makes perfect sense when you consider the global audience for games like Minecraft. Players come from all walks of life, with diverse ethnicities, cultures, sexual orientations, and abilities. To create a product that resonates with such a broad player base, a diverse team is essential. · Resume Revamp: Gone are the days of lengthy resumes that chronicle your entire life story. Recruiters are laser-focused on identifying relevant skills and experiences that align with the position. RJ Hayes, a Technical University Recruiter at Microsoft, emphasized the importance of a concise one-page resume. Think of your LinkedIn profile as an extension of your resume, where you can showcase your accomplishments and interests in more detail. Huge shoutout to the Hispanic Heritage Foundation for hosting this insightful event, and to Mojang and Microsoft for sharing their valuable perspectives! This Q&A was a goldmine of information for aspiring game developers, software engineers, and product managers. What are your thoughts on the importance of diversity in the gaming industry? Let's keep the conversation going in the comments below!
