Plan Ahead: Before attending NCTS, review the agenda and identify key sessions, or speakers that align with your interests and goals. Planning ahead allows you to make the most of your time and ensures you don't miss out on valuable opportunities to ask questions or start meaningful conversations. 2. Network Strategically: Take advantage of networking opportunities to connect with professionals, speakers, and fellow attendees. Don't be afraid to start conversations or exchange contact information and make sure to be polite while doing it. 3. Stay Informed: Keep yourself updated on the latest trends, technologies, and industry news before the event. This knowledge will not only improve your understanding of the discussions but also help you to actively participate in conversations, making your overall experience more fulfilling. 4. Participate in the activities: Actively participate in the CV clinic where HR experts can review your CV and make career recommendations alongside the transition station where you can speak to experts in various fields. Finally, remember to check out the sponsor booth for their products and offerings! 5. Follow Up Post-Event: The connections you make at NCTS shouldn't end when it concludes. CEOs benefit from Vistage peer groups from day one. Vistage provides a structured environment for professional development though workshops, guest speakers, and expert sessions. #Success #peersupport #Vistage
Today I went to my first Vistage Worldwide, Inc. meeting, chaired by Alan Berrey. For those that don’t know, Vistage is a CEO/Owner peer advisory group where we can bring questions and what we are working on at our companies to a non-judgmental, non-competitive forum and get honest feedback for the concerns we face as owners. While the conversations are strictly confidential, I can tell you that what I learned today will help me immensely in my role leading OCD Tech / OCD Tech México. The format of the meetings are guest speakers in the morning and then peer round table conversations in the afternoon. It was interesting that as each member brought their concern to the group, the group isn’t allowed to start with solutions. We had to keep asking question after question to get to the root of the members issue before we came back up with advice. The group was made up of some CEOs with 2 years experience all the way up to 40 years. I’m looking forward to our next monthly meeting! #SmallBusiness #SmallBizTips #ownership #vistage

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of meeting BlackInTech LinkedIn royalty... Torrance Evans!!!! Anyone who follows Torrance knows he’s NOT a gatekeeper, but a bridge builder, connecting professionals to invaluable opportunities. My recent experience at the LinkedIn Office for a session on “LinkedIn: Rock Your Profile” was made possible because of 'Torrance’s Networking in Tech’ mailer. I use to see his posts and wonder, “How does he know about all these events in Techlanta?!" He was in so many rooms networking with incredible people in the tech industry and now thanks to his mailer, I don’t have to wonder anymore. I can be in the room too! Torrance, your dedication to the #BlackInTech community is truly admirable, and it’s heartening to see you gaining recognition, as you recently mentioned becoming a metric. Love to see you getting your flowers 💐 Congrats on your new role at JPMorgan Chase!! They are lucky to have you. Your impact is already evident, and I have no doubt that even greater things are on the horizon. Feeling blessed to have crossed paths with you during this journey, my friend ❤️ 📣To the wider LinkedIn Community, if you’re not already following, connected with, or subscribed to Torrance’s email list, you’re missing out on a wealth of opportunities. You can sign up here: https://lnkd.in/ek-H6HRR P.S. Shout out to the gentleman that took this photo! He was an iPhone professional photographer 📸 #LinkedIn #LinkedInLearning #ProfessionalDevelopment #AtlantaEvents #NetworkingOpportunities #NetworkingEvents #ATL #NetworkingInTech #TorranceEvans Torrance Evans, now you’re not only a metric, but a #hashtag 🤜🏾💥🤛🏾

Empowering Communities through Courageous Leadership and Continuous Growth - Workforce Development - Educational Administration - Curriculum Development - Community Engagement
Thank you, Cloudforce, for hosting Employ Prince George's South County Summer Youth Connections team. This was an amazing experience for our scholars and Career Coaches. Some of our takeaways: - Consultants sell time and expertise. - You do not have to be an expert; have enough knowledge to be coachable. - Ignore the naysayers. - Never be embarrassed about the path you want to take. - Be proud of your work and make what you're doing known. - Be willing to jump into new situations because that's how you grow. - Imposter syndrome can be a motivator. - Don't be scared to ask for feedback. - You should be proud of everything you do.
