In the world of professional development, inspiration can come from unexpected places. As I walked through Paddington yesterday I caught sight of the Paddington statue on the platform and it got me thinking, what do the well loved characters of our childhood teach us? While Paddington's adventures are heartwarming and entertaining, they also offer valuable lessons for our careers and personal growth. 🧥 Adaptability: Paddington arrives in London from Peru, navigating a completely new environment with curiosity and resilience. Embracing change and being adaptable are crucial skills in today's fast-evolving workplace. 🧥 Kindness and Empathy: Paddington's interactions are always rooted in kindness and understanding. Building strong, empathetic relationships is key to effective teamwork and leadership. 🧥 Optimism: Despite the challenges he faces, Paddington maintains a positive outlook. This optimism drives him to find creative solutions and maintain morale, qualities that are equally important in overcoming professional obstacles. 🧥 Attention to Detail: Paddington's meticulous nature, especially when it comes to his beloved marmalade sandwiches, reminds us of the importance of attention to detail in our work, ensuring quality and excellence. 🧥 Cultural Awareness: Coming from a different background, Paddington shows us the value of diversity and the richness it brings to our lives and workplaces. Embracing and celebrating different perspectives fosters innovation and inclusivity. Next time you face a challenge at work, think of Paddington Bear and remember these timeless lessons. Who knew a small bear from Peru could offer such valuable professional insights? #ProfessionalDevelopment #CareerGrowth #Leadership #Teamwork #Adaptability #Kindness #Optimism #AttentionToDetail #DiversityAndInclusion

Supplier diversity is a social and business imperative that helps increase supply chain resilience, reduce operational risk and support organizational innovation. An important role is played by changing the approach from one focused solely on achieving savings to one combining corporate social responsibility and sustainable development, while maintaining efforts focused on reducing business costs. CEOs with the ability to initiate change can start by changing their colleagues' perceptions about whether diverse suppliers actually cost more, are just small companies, and are they really that hard to find. Opening up to new groups of suppliers is one of the key issues that will help us survive further possible economic turmoil. How important is supplier diversification to You in the development of Your business? #ServicedApartment #ResidentialForRent #Furnished #Apartments #BuildToRent #Build2Rent #BathPOD #KitchenPOD #PrefabricatedBath #PrefabricatedKitchen #KitchenFurniture #BathFurniture #ApartmentProjects #ResidentialProjects #FurnishedApartments #ConstructionProjects #ReThinkLiving #RealEstate #Hospitality #Hotel #Supplier #Contractor #CEO #CPO #PrioKitchen

Holi: A Festival of Colors & Lessons for the Workplace The vibrant festival of Holi is upon us and as we drench each other in playful hues, Holi offers powerful lessons for organizations seeking a more inclusive and joyful workplace: The Power of Unity: Holi's colors wash away distinctions of race, class, and background. In the workplace, let's strive to create a space where everyone feels equally valued and celebrated, regardless of their differences. The Joy of Collaboration: Holi is a community celebration. Similarly, a thriving workplace encourages teamwork and collaboration over silos and competition. Let's foster an environment where everyone's contributions are recognized. Embracing Diversity: Just as the beauty of Holi lies in its multitude of colors, the strength of an organization lies in the diversity of its people. Let's welcome and learn from the unique perspectives, experiences, and talents of our colleagues. Letting Go and Having Fun: Holi is a time to let loose, laugh, and simply have fun. A touch of playfulness and positivity can energize the workplace, boosting morale and creativity. Let the spirit of Holi inspire us to build workplaces where everyone feels like they belong, where collaboration thrives, and where joy is a part of the work culture. #Holi #Diversity #Inclusion #WorkplaceCulture #HumLog

2023 was another unpredictable year, and I’m proud of our CITY Family for continuing to live our purpose and values of continuous improvement —with the help of our shoppers, partners, and local communities. I’m so glad to able to celebrate our progress and give a transparent look at where we’re going through our Annual Corporate Social Responsibility Report. This week’s leadership tip is focused on just that, “Transparent Reporting”. At CITY Furniture our purpose is to enrich people’s lives and make the world a better place. That starts right at the core of our company, as we work hard to create a diverse, equitable and inclusive organization that reflects the community we live in. Every year, we evaluate our goals and make sure we’re targeting areas where we can make the most impact. I love that we do this, and love that we set the example as a private owned family company by publicly sharing our Corporate Social Responsibility Report to show our progress for our customers, associates, vendors, partners and our community. It also holds leadership - including myself- accountable to continue living our purpose. Releasing a CSR Report at the start of the year helps to foster a better company culture, so that we’re all aligned on where we’re heading in the year upcoming. Plus, we get to celebrate our accomplishments as a team and reflect. We have a lot more to do, and it’s a never-ending journey, but I’m proud of our team for having the tools in place to really make a difference. How do you as leaders set goals for progress and report out? Would love to hear your feedback! If you have any feedback on CITY’s progress and our CSR Report, please share with me in the comments. No corporate America! It’s all bull now! You put people in positions, saying oh, they have to learn too! Well we all will have to learn until we leave this earth! You put them in positions because you’re sleeping with them, they’re your friend, they are your family or because you were forced to put them their because you’re afraid of losing your so called promotion! Not considering that some of the individuals you put in positions have no experience in dealing with different situations, personalities, or behaviors. They have no depth of understanding that the position you hold is not about ordering individuals but guiding them in the right direction to be successful. It’s about equality, diversity and inclusion. You can’t have assets to your company and treat them like slaves! I literally had someone to tell me in an interview; when I asked about my responsibilities ; They said; WHATEVER WE TELL YOU TO DO! This is not a slave plantation! I have skills beyond whatever you tell me to do, so I found myself, taking out trash, unloading trucks, picking and packing. Let’s not forget being a construction worker! CORPORATE WORLD HAS LOST THEIR MINDS! We are not slaves!

Today is World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue & Development. Here at Stonegate diversity is very important to us, with it actually being one of our core business values. We actively encourage open dialogue between those of different cultures and backgrounds, helping to develop a workplace of respect and mutual understanding. In addition to open conversation, other great ways to embrace diversity can be: ▪ Learn about traditional celebrations from other cultures ▪ Volunteer with an organization working for diversity and inclusion ▪ Learn another language ▪ Visit an art exhibition or a museum dedicated to other cultures ▪ Learn about another religion What do you do to encourage cultural diversity in the workplace? #worlddayforculturaldiversity #development #workplacediversity

Our Values: The whole is greater than the sum of its parts 💙 At Wilson James our culture respects equality, diversity and encourages individuality. It is underpinned by our values and behaviours, and defines how our colleagues operate for the clients and communities that we serve. We met with CEO, Mark Dobson, to discuss the Wilson James core values and why they are key to our approach: “Our core values are central to way in which we operate. They set us apart, define who we are, and shape who we aspire to be. Whilst each of our values in their own right are important and can be considered independently, it is how they exist and interact with one another that drives our culture. As our business goes from strength to strength and we continue to seize new opportunities, I have grown to appreciate just how important our values are. Individually, they stand as separate building blocks but it is when they join forces that the real magic happens! Together, they provide the foundation upon which everything else is built, and ensure that we operate in line with our guiding principles. It’s one thing to deliver services to clients, it’s another to do it in the Wilson James Way. Respect. Honesty. Communication. Safety. Responsibility. That’s who we are, that’s Wilson James.” #TheWilsonJamesWay #CoreValues #TeamWJ

Global Lead Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging | Organization & culture development | Norsk Hydro | ex Management Consultant | NHH, Business & Finance | Certified Diversity Leader
Is It Safe to Be You? During a spring visit to Bergen, my 4-year-old daughter, Tiril, posed a question: “Mom, can children go to jail in this country?” I reassured her, “No, my dear, we’re still in Norway, where children are not imprisoned.” She then asked if adults could face jail time. I replied, “Yes, if someone commits a serious offense.” June marks Pride month, and I’m heartened by the widespread allyship and support from individuals, communities, and organizations toward the LGBTQI+ community. While it lasts only a month, it comes with a value commitment for the full year. Personally, I’ve never feared imprisonment due to my identity or faced discrimination based on whom I love. The idea of others merely “tolerating” my sexual orientation has never crossed my mind. But how can I truly understand the LGBTQI+ experience? I can’t. Yet I have a choice: to be an ally and celebrate - or be neutral and merely tolerate. I’ve invested time in learning and forming my own convictions. I celebrate Pride because I believe all people share equal value. We should celebrate one another, not merely tolerate each other. Everyone deserves to feel safe and be true to themselves, loving whom they love. In Norsk Hydro, we proudly embrace #Pride. Our understanding grows with each lesson, emphasizing its importance. This year, in collaboration with Amnesty International, our theme is “Safe With Us - Everyone is welcome in Hydro" — safe to express themselves and love whomever they love. No one should be excluded or face imprisonment for being true to themselves, whether in Bergen or any city worldwide. Happy Pride! 🏳️🌈🌈
We’re celebrating Pride at our locations around the globe throughout the month of June 🏳️🌈🎉🌈! Our Pride theme combines our focus on diversity, inclusion, and belonging, with our priority of safety in the workplace. “Safe with us” means physical and psychological safety—it means everyone is welcome to be their true self in our offices and plants. Today marks the start of Pride month!
