Neighbourhoods should be made for people, and that is why they should also have a saying🗣️ While #citizen engagement is an essential process, it is not an obvious one. As part of the #drOp project, a co-governance model was developed, to support municipalities in implementing a successful #disctrictrenovation🏘️ While waiting for the full document to be released, we invite you to explore this concept through a dedicated infographic🔎 ➡️https://lnkd.in/eRh58xzt Materahub, Ayuntamiento de Ermua, TECNALIA Research & Innovation, Housing Europe, Estonian Union of Housing Associations EKYL, Mondragon Unibertsitatea

✍ Article published by the Hungarian National URBACT Contact Point in its monthly Newsletter 📌 Participation of the Szabolcs 05 Regional Development Association of Municipalities in the URBACT network As a partner of the Beyond the Urban project, the Szabolcs 05 Regional Development Association of Municipalities has made and continues to make significant progress in promoting sustainable and safe transport. The aim of the project supported by the URBACT IV Program is for the participating 10 partners to improve mobility between the affected cities and surrounding settlements - by exploring and testing sustainable, accessible and integrated mobility solutions. Staff and ULG members of the Szabolcs 05 Local Government Area Development Association got to know many adaptable models at the transnational meetings. In Vic, Spain, it was presented, among other things, the means by which women's points of view can be taken into account during the development of urban transport, and the participants were able to learn about different methods with which they can strengthen social participation in their own city and region. One of the strengths of Tartu in Estonia is that it provides flexible transport options for the people living in the surrounding smaller settlements, thus ensuring equal access to city services. The cooperation continues with further cross-border exchanges of experience, the development of the local mobility action plan, and the preparation and implementation of pilot actions - building on the experiences of local organizations and professionals. Senior Innovation and Research Consultant and Project Manager. Driving innovation in the areas of AI | Big Data | IoT & Edge computing | Urban Mobility | Cybersecurity | Wireless Communications (WiFi, 5G)
We at Serendipity are incredibly grateful for the fantastic organization of the recent event with Žaliosios savivaldybės / Green Municipalities (Romualdas Petraitis and Christopher Aguilar). It was a remarkable opportunity to share insights and learn from each other. Here are some key takeaways I took: 🌱 Innovation in Digitalization and Green Solutions can be expensive, however they are investments that will pay off in the long run (Teresė Škutaitė). 🌍Sustainability is a long road with very concrete benefits. It’s essential to stay committed to this journey for the betterment of our planet (Anton Nikitin). 🤝Joint Efforts from Multiple Communities: Collaboration is key. By sharing best practices, replicating successful solutions, and raising awareness, we can involve society and drive meaningful change (Andrius Bagdonas) 📊In today’s world, data is crucial for advancing new technologies and making evidence-based decisions (Vadimas Ivanovas). It’s inspiring to see all the efforts being made in Lithuania towards these goals. Let’s continue to work together and make a positive impact!

The visit of the Beyond Crisis project to the Italian city of Reggio Emilia allowed partners to delve into successful strategies that can serve as a model to promote policies based on the social economy. One of these visits was made to Tecnopolo, a former industrial estate that now houses a technology and research district that aims to promote innovation, research and development in the region. Tecnopolo of Reggio Emilia focuses on various areas of interest including information and communication technologies (ICT), renewable energy, clean technologies, creative industries and other cutting-edge sectors. Other examples of success are the L'Ovile cooperative, Fattoria Italia or the work of Rigenera Cooperative, who presents the steps that have been taken to convert the area in which we are located, former home to hundreds of homeless people, into a modern complex focused to social innovation. Thanks to these projects, it has been possible to turn degraded areas into modern centers based on social innovation. The project BEYOND CRISIS addresses the priority Improving business environment and supporting sustainable business models based on social economy with the aim to support actions to increase systemic awareness and competences of Reggio Emilia, Cartagena, and Kassandra local territories to address crises and arising challenges, leveraging the role and innovative joint partnerships of social economic actors with public administration, SMEs, businesses, and research centers. #BeyondCrisis #socialeconomy #cosme

Importance of learning from each other and cross-border collaboration Transnational collaboration offers a wealth of benefits by bringing together diverse perspectives and practices. We have regular workshops, meetings and open discussions to learn from each other and become stronger together. 🧡 We would like to share some key insights with you: 🌟 Drawing inspiration from different approaches: Countries have unique ways of integrating local resources into their processes. For example, France excels in embedding culture and cultural heritage into its activities, providing a rich source of inspiration for others. 🌟 Understanding political and ideological differences: National and regional differences in defining roles within collaborations are significant. Some regions uphold the arm's length principle for public authorities, while others allow for more direct involvement. Recognizing and respecting these differences is crucial for effective collaboration. 🌟 Enhancing diversity and social capital: Transnational projects naturally foster greater diversity and build stronger social networks. Exposure to various perspectives leads to innovative and comprehensive solutions, beyond what local approaches alone can achieve. 🌟 Overcoming language and cultural barriers: Language and cultural differences can present challenges. Effective communication requires awareness and efforts to build trust and a sense of security within the team, acknowledging that these barriers exist despite a shared commitment to inclusivity. The transnational collaboration is to inspire and strengthen the shared European development of sustainable rural and coastal districts. In summary, learning from each other through cross-border collaboration enriches projects with diverse insights and innovative solutions, while also demanding careful navigation of political, ideological, and cultural differences. 🤝 #SIRRproject #interreg #interregnorthsea #sustainability #innovation #ruralareas #entrepreneurship Communauté de Communes du Pays de Lumbres Lysekils kommun Sotenäs Kommun Sotenäs Symbioscentrum Högskolan Väst HoloHouse Skagen Uddannelsescenter Aarhus University Universität Vechta Læsø Erhverv Foreningen Stenvad Mosebrug, City of Louvigné du Désert, Agency for Urban Planning and Development of the Saint-Omer Flandre intérieure Region, Interreg North Sea Programme

With few natural resources and perhaps best known internationally for its outstanding wine, Moldova’s future development will depend on the further growth of its knowledge economy, our latest report—published today—has found. Fortunately, the study, IT Investment Guide for Moldova 2024, reveals that the government in Chișinău is aware of this and has in recent years implemented measures to foster the growth of its IT sector and advance the use of digital technologies. This effort has put the country at the forefront of digital transformation in government services, while boosting its reputation as an IT and technology hub, and the creation of the Moldova IT Park (MITP), Europe’s first e-park, is a key part of this effort. https://lnkd.in/dgPTTe67 Emerging Europe #Moldova

This was a fun exercise. I was asked whether Innokaupungit - Innocities have innovation districts. I couldn't answer right away because I wasn't sure about the definition. I checked a definition and made a list based on my understanding. Here are some things that I found: 📑 Four cities hadn't any specific area mentioned in their ecosystem agreement. 🏗 Kera (Espoo), Hiedanranta (Tampere) and Savilahti (Kuopio) are probably the most prominent city districts that are developing at the moment and that have the potential to become innovation districts. 📍 Turku Science Park is a good benchmark for creating a thriving innovation district. Helsinki has identified six innovation districts, one of which is Pasila, where I live. Obviously, it is an innovation district. Why else would I live there? 🤷♀️
