📢 QA VS QC 📣
In the garment industry, quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) play vital roles in ensuring that the final products meet the desired standards. As I examine the differences between QA and QC, I realize how they impact brands.
Firstly, let's talk about QA. It's like the gatekeeper, ensuring that all processes are in place to produce high-quality garments from the get-go. This involves setting standards, training workers, and implementing procedures to prevent defects. For example, in a QA process, I ensure that the fabric used meets the brand's specifications so there are no surprises later.
On the other hand, QC steps in during the production phase, checking for defects and making corrections as needed. It's like having a final inspection before the garments hit the shelves. For instance, if I notice a stitching issue on a shirt during QC, I will ensure it gets fixed before it reaches the customer.
Now, how does this impact brands? Well, brands that prioritize QA and QC tend to have higher customer satisfaction and loyalty.
So, how can we improve QA and QC processes in the garment industry? Here are some questions to ponder:
1. Are there better training programs we can implement for workers?
2. How can technology be leveraged to enhance quality control?
3. Can brands work more closely with suppliers to ensure consistent quality?
4. What measures can be taken to streamline the QA and QC process without compromising quality?
I invite you to share your thoughts and experiences in the comments below.

Quality Checking Options👕
Just a simple fit test for a corporate t-shirt done for the Coats Thread Lanka.
Based on customer budget there are different QC levels to choose from starting from general QC up to even 30% QC where needed.
Custom orders are not like regular ready-made t-shirts available in retail stores which are easier to manage in terms of production.
Here’s the reason.
Ready-made garments:
◽ Add up the cost for removed garments from the Quality Testing to the remaining batch of decent quality garments and the customer pays for QC-rejected garments as well
◽ Are not done in a hurry and have enough time for product development
◽ Have time for multiple pre-samples to adjust the errors in the specification
◽ Have only a handful of different specifications for the entire year and repeated batches of the same garment
◽ Have bulk volumes such as at least 1000 pieces for each unique specification to reduce the cost
◽ Require zero or limited customization as per each end user buyer’s request which drastically cuts down on the cost required for material sourcing and production planning
For custom clothing, you now know the situation is completely different. And that is why we have introduced different QC options 📏

Leather Manufacturing is one of the high-stakes industries. Quality control has long been a significant differentiator as the global leather goods market continues to grow, having reached $424.96 billion in 2021.
At ShivenImpex, we have implemented a rigorous 3-level inspection process, establishing us as a trusted name in the leather garment industry.
Here's how our meticulous process works:
✅ Initial Inspection: Three dedicated quality inspectors are stationed at the garment finishing stage. These inspectors meticulously examine each garment, focusing on the minutest details.
They ensure proper zipper installation and functionality, verify precise measurements, and scrutinize every aspect of the garment's construction.
This initial inspection is crucial in identifying and rectifying any issues early on.
✅ Quality Check by the Manager: Following the initial inspection, the Quality Check Manager conducts a comprehensive review of the garments.
The manager personally re-examines each garment, re-measuring it, and checking for zipper alignment, lining integrity, and leather quality. This double-check ensures consistency throughout the process and that no detail is overlooked.
The Quality Check Manager then compiles a detailed report based on this assessment, which is shared with clients at least a week before shipment.
This transparent communication reassures clients about the product quality, fostering trust.
✅ Final Inspection by the Director: The final layer of quality assurance is the most critical. The company's director personally inspects every garment, whether a single sample or part of a bulk shipment.
This hands-on approach underscores our commitment to delivering only the best. The director's inspection covers all aspects again, ensuring the product is perfect before leaving our premises.
Through this approach, we deliver precisely what we have promised to our clients, developing long-term relationships which are built on trust and reliability.
Moreover, we continuously invest in training our staff and seek client feedback to refine our processes further.
