It’s all happening…    Evergreen Life was named in BusinessCloud's inaugural GM 125 Rising Stars of Business list along with other forward-thinking organisations, identified as having growth and productivity potential for the region.     It was great to see the breadth of innovation coming out of #GreaterManchester and the launch event in May will provide a good opportunity to bring like-minded business leaders together.     Winning awards and being recognised in lists is rewarding for our Evergreen team who work so hard to deliver fantastic work, but the main motivator for us is the difference we make to the healthcare system and ultimately, the individual.     There’s a lot that needs to change within the #NHS to deliver a better service user experience by streamlining efficiencies.     Raconteur’s latest special report for The Times, examines the Future of Healthcare and I was asked to contribute to an article within it, sharing my thoughts on the current state of NHS software systems.     My recommendation? NAIC members attended an insightful webinar yesterday that shed light on how the EY Nottingham Spirk Innovation Hub can help private equity firms harness innovation to drive economic value through cost efficiency, product evolution, and innovation. Here are some key takeaways from the presentation: ⭐️ Brent Duersch shared the backstory of EY’s relationship with Nottingham Spirk, which began when the firm was nominated for EY’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award. The firms have since created a powerful partnership that helps companies bring innovative products to life, from prototype to full-scale production. ⭐️ Tim Tracy emphasized that in today’s private equity environment, innovation is critical for creating value, providing a specific example of how innovation is key for long-term growth as well as cost-cutting. ⭐️ Ed Markowski discussed how Nottingham Spirk helps companies transform ideas into market-ready products. He detailed their ability to scale innovations from concept to commercialization, with engineers, designers, and product experts working together to build solutions that disrupt industries. ⭐️ Daniel Snyder walked through EY’s Design-to-Value approach, which focuses on product cost reduction while enhancing quality. He shared an example of how his team reduced costs for an HVAC company by re-engineering thermostats, driving efficiency and market success. ⭐️ Zack Simmering and Danny Broyles highlighted the role of IP analytics in creating value, using machine learning and advanced data analytics to identify untapped growth opportunities in patent portfolios. They highlighted a case where they assessed over 80,000 patents for a client, narrowing it down to 25 innovation opportunities. Thank you to the EY Nottingham Spirk team for sharing their expertise.
