Registrations for the 8th annual Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC) are now open! An initiative by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, DFC is a free, 30-day health and fitness event designed to make Dubai one of the world's most active cities. Running from 26 October to 24 November, it invites everyone to commit to 30 minutes of physical activity every day for 30 days. Dubai maintained its position as the world’s top city for Greenfield Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) projects in H1 2024, according to the Financial Times Ltd’s ‘fDi Markets’ data. In the first half of 2024, Dubai accounted for 6.2% of the global volume of Greenfield FDI projects and a total of 801 announced foreign investment projects worth over AED 21.85 billion. His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, said the emirate has significantly strengthened its position as a major player in the global economic landscape, which has transformed it into a global hub for foreign direct investment (FDI). His Highness also highlighted that Dubai's evolving economic policies, and its constantly developing infrastructure, continue to consolidate the city’s status as a top destination for investors, multinational corporations, and visitors, reinforcing its pivotal role in the global economy. Dubai Financial Market (DFM) General Index achieved a significant increase of 10.9%, the highest in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) since the start of 2024, according to a recent economic report from Kamco Invest. The overall index growth was widespread, with key sectors such as the Financial Index (+3.6 %) and the Real Estate Index (+3.1 %) contributing significantly to the market's performance in September 2024.
