World Water Day 2024 has recently gone by, but every day should be celebrated the life force that sustains us all: water. A fundamental right that we must preserve and protect: from the depths of the oceans to the drops in our glasses, every particle counts. The project we launched together with Ogyre aims precisely to conserve, respect and defend this resource.

World Water Day is observed on 22 March every year. This day is dedicated to highlighting the necessity of WATER and the need to conserve it. It also serves as a reminder that water is a natural resource that is irreplaceable in our daily lives. The significance of celebrating World Water Day can be understood by the fact that most of the water that we use for everyday activities comes from GROUNDWATER. Natural resources play a critical role in ensuring a stable and healthy lifestyle. Additionally, freshwater ensures good health and helps maintain a healthy weight. With the rising population, the demand for groundwater is rising, while the availability of water is decreasing. This highlights the necessity of working together to preserve groundwater and ensure that we do not run out of this one of the most important natural resources. This year, as World Water Day on 22 March focuses on the theme, 'WATER FOR PEACE,' we are compelled to reflect on the complex relationship between water, conflict, and cooperation. Water has the power to create peace or spark conflict. SAVE WATER - SAVE LIFE.

On my way back home from the 10th World Water Forum. Looking back and looking ahead. So much to be done! Watershed resilience has been at the center of our work for decades and still we are learning, improving and innovating every day. This is why events such as the world water forum are meaningful. To share ideas and best practices, to raise new issues on the international agenda for water. Looking forward. At Antea Group Belgium we keep working on climate & water in Belgium and beyond, studying climate induced hazards, vulnerability and risk, and building watershed resilience. Capacity building and creating awareness on climate risks and healthy watersheds is not only part of our work, it is part of our DNA, our purpose, and our Corporate Social Responsibility. This is why we are putting our shoulders behind the organisation of the Scheldt Walk 2025 together with Li An Phoa, Drinkable Rivers and a growing network of other partners in France, Belgium and The Netherlands. Follow us for more news about the Drinkable Scheldt - Drinkbare Schelde - l'Escaut à Boire. And join our steadily growing alliance... What is your dream for the Scheldt and it's basin? March 22 is World Water Day! Every year on March 22, World Water Day is celebrated, and the chosen theme for 2024 is "Water for Peace". The motivation is that over time there have been many cases of cooperation, but also quite a few conflicts related to water and access to this vital resource. At local and national levels, different users must cooperate through an integrated water resource system, address and promote human rights-fulfilling circular economy and management. Transboundary waters are also essential for peace and prosperity, and governments should cooperate bilaterally, regionally or globally, for example by signing up and implementing the United Nations Water Convention and the Watercourses Convention. We must all unite around water and use it responsibly, laying the foundations for a more stable, sustainable and prosperous tomorrow!
