Do you know the meaning behind our business name? We are all about supporting Indigenous perspectives in the classroom for our children and youth, so it is fitting that our name reflects our purpose. Riley is our sons middle name, and Callie is our daughters middle name. Callie is also the name that my great nan used to call my mum, so in essence it is all about family. As an Indigenous business, we are in it for our kids, to make a difference in their world and for future generations. Learn more about our why here: https://lnkd.in/gGPp_wb5

In 2023 the World Health Organization (WHO) estimated that, roughly 1.3 billion people, or about 16% of the world's population, are dealing with significant disabilities. Making tourism facilities, products, and services accessible to everyone is a key element of any smart and sustainable tourism strategy. It's not just a matter of human rights; it's also a chance for destinations and companies to welcome all visitors and boost their revenues.

Delighted to have chaired the 25th Anniversary special session of RAID - no - not the insect repellent spray - but Rights and Accountability in Development (RAID) - the highly effective boutique NGO watchdog that's been putting the world of corporate accountability to rights for quarter of a century! Biggest takeaways - more scrutiny needed of the growing and elaborate ESG ecosystem being built up by corporates - whilst a veil of silence grows on rising attacks on human rights defenders trying to do the daily work of - yes you guessed it - scrutinizing business. Surely a paradox worth unravelling.
An end to a very special year at RAID! Here's a throwback to our 25th anniversary event Matrix Chambers where we had the uplifting words of Richard Hermer KC and our distinguished panel to celebrate to. Read our short summary below. Wishing everyone a wonderful Christmas break and we'll see you in the new year! 🎄 https://lnkd.in/e_zqBYby

Ep. 64: Changing the Narrative in TV with Andy Mundy-Castle Until relatively recently, the phenomenon of white British families fostering Black children of West African descent was unknown. That's changing, thanks to advocacy by the late, great rapper TY, reporting by Symeon Brown, and the Africa International Film Festival - AFRIFF and BAFTA award-winning documentary “White Nanny, Black Child." This practice started in the 1960s and continued into the 1990s. These fostered children are now parents, uncles, aunties, and maybe, in some cases, grandparents. Some of them were public figures. This experience left an indelible mark on the identities of many of them. In this episode, Christabel N., speaks with Andy Mundy-Castle, the film's director. They discuss making the film, navigating the British media industry, and what creators should consider when telling a sensitive, important story.
