Just over 10 years ago, Direct Support Professional Stephanie Anifowose's life was forever changed. Ironically, the impact this catastrophic event had on her is the reason Dungarvin is fortunate to have this compassionate person here with us today! Swipe though to read her inspiring story of survival and giving back. Thank you, Stephanie! #dungarvin #dungarvinway #dungarvincareers #dspappreciationweek

There is no simple word to express the many ways we can hurt animals besides creating physical pain. Mental abuse, stress, FEAR, anxiety - dogs can experience every one of these feelings. Please help us save Milli’s life (she’s just 2 years old) by donating a small amount for her treatment and recovery. We are raising Rs. 7200/- ($87) to heal her wounds, sterilize and vaccinate her, feed her for 1 month, and give her a warm bed to sleep on till she becomes strong again. A small 10 rupees can change everything for Milli. LINK FOR DONATIONS: https://bit.ly/3NSXw5P [street dog, stray dog rescue, wire traps, community dogs, dog shelter, sweet dogs, mother dogs, female dogs] #helpothers #saveMilli #animalrescue #healwithlove
We pray this never happens to you.

Impact and Purpose Coach | Philanthropy Advisor | Writer | Connector | Trustee | Stakeholder Experience Consultant
My personal philanthropy has a primary focus on the human rights of children and young people. Which is understandable when you hear my own story of childhood abuse and neglect. I strongly believe that every child deserves to be loved, safe and able to thrive, no matter where they were born. I also believe that this is the responsibility of the whole community - not just the biological parents. That is why I chose to apply to be a Trustee for Hope and Homes for Children and it was an absolute honour to be selected for this huge responsibility. As such, I have had the privilege to see the positive results of their incredible work, but there is so much more to be done. Sadly, at least 5.4million children are currently separated from their families, shut away inside orphanages, and staggeringly 80% are not even orphans. Orphanages are not the safe place we have been led to believe by decades of well meaning charity work and philanthropy. It is well researched and demonstrated that orphanages expose children to abuse, trafficking, and physical and psychological trauma that can last a lifetime. 📖🔬here is just one study https://lnkd.in/ejxvhEk7 No child should end up in an orphanage. There is ALWAYS a better solution. Today is the UN #InternationalDayofFamilies and this marks the launch of HHC’s campaign #BacktoFamily. It’s an incredible and well thought out campaign, using #AI to protect the rights of children. What can you do to help get children out of harms way today - i’ve made an easy list below (with a little help from the team at HHC) 🧐🧐🧐🧐🧐🧐🧐 💛 Please share this poignant message from Kristin Scott Thomas 💛 Sign the petition www.backtofamily.org 💛 Donate https://lnkd.in/eJDgcu8R 💛 Attend one of HHC’s fab events https://lnkd.in/eH8BbyPT 💛 Challenge yourself and fundraise as a bonus! https://lnkd.in/eH8BbyPT 💛 Follow HHC and share their posts on social media - this is a social movement to protect the rights of the most vulnerable children 💛 Join their mailing list to stay up to date https://lnkd.in/efzc4dAz At the very least I encourage you to take a look at their website and learn more about the harmful effects of orphanages, what the alternative is and how #philanthropy has a catalytic role to play in this social movement https://lnkd.in/egzS5ua5 ‼️Philanthropy should be about learning, so if you have been funding an orphanage and want to learn what you can do to help those children please get in touch with me today xx ‼️ #BackToFamily #socialmovement #artificialintelligence #AIforgood https://lnkd.in/edyeVuQr

Dayroyo the Monastery of the Holy Martyrs Spiritual Father of St. Mary the Protectress Syriac Orthodox Community
The oMonastery of the Holy Martyrs and Orthodox Workers works to identify and bring recognition resources and community strength to what I call the indigenous neighborhood leaders and organizations that are effectively addressing critical problems of their communities. That is the 25-dollar explanation of what Ortodox Workers do. Indigenous neighborhood leaders are not native Americans but could be in some areas. They are the folks who live inside the problem. Not the cause of the problem, but the result. What mutual assistance does is show folks that they can be listened to, that they do know what the problems are, and that they are better than people in suits who think they and only they know best the solution. First, we learn their mother-given name. We use it and then just shut up and listen. You would be surprised what many tell us how long it is been since anyone has called them by the name their mother and father gave them. Many times years. They have heard other names. And almost none have ever been listened to. Just that little bit brings smiles. Most importantly it brings hope to hearts that have never known hope before. They know that the government has never addressed the problem. at the most government provides bandaids. The government tells what their problem is as if someone in a suit knows what it is to wonder how he will be able to put food on the family table. And what governmental agency officials know what it is to not have a bed to sleep on at night or a roof over his head? Nonprofit agencies are just the same. Again someone decides what their problem is, how to solve that problem, and how the solution will get to them. Is there ever any dignity to this way? So the Monastery of the Holy Martyrs and Orthodox Workers is a resource tool for these real folks to use to organize and build communities, and when asked be their voice. They are the real someone who knows better how to transform lives, schools, and neighborhoods. They become a community to be reckoned with. That is what a little bit of listening, encouragement, and organization does. We bring smiles and hope and take anger and turn it into organized power of the people. And as someone who lived in the 60's,, I know, "Power to the people!" That gives you some idea of what Orthodox Worker Outreach Teams do. We cause problems for the establishment. Want to join? Your neighbors are waiting to welcome you and to let you listen and learn from them, not some so-called educated expert. And the Monastery of the Holy Martyrs and Orthodx Workers also need your unceasing mighty prayers and continued financial support. Pray long and pray hard. Great initiative - well done
Kalamunda Compassionate Communities in its next phase. 🕯 🏮 After last year's launch of compassionate communities, a volunteer working group led by the amazing Ruth Chodorowski has since developed this heartfelt and impactful program for the community. In life's journey, compassion is the comforting hand that eases the pain of loss. It's the warmth of a hug, the understanding gaze of a friend that helps us through sorrow's darkest moments. Loss leaves an ache, but compassion is the light that shines in the darkness. It reminds us that we're not alone in our grief, giving us the courage to cherish memories and navigate through the pain with strength and resilience. The Legacy Lantern Ceremony was a beautiful display of that light shining in darkness. The ceremony was an opportunity for those who have experienced loss to come together to honour and commemorate their loved ones lives, achievements and impact, finding comfort alongside others going through their own grief. This was a chance to find a sense of peace and solace in the intensity of grief. Well done Ruth Chodorowski, what a beautiful event to be a part of. #kalamundacompassionatecommunities 🍂 City of Kalamunda

If you have the heart to help simple Papua New Guineans like you and me in a remote village in PNG, PLEASE READ, SHARE AND DONATE IF YOU CAN. HELP US BUILD THE BABY JARED BRIDGE🙌 This video will take less than 10 minutes of your life. I appeal to you to watch and say a prayer for simple Papua New Guineans who are in the deep jungles of PNG who do not have access to basic health care. I kindly ask that you like and share this video for a wider reach. This is the YouTube link for the full video: https://lnkd.in/gBMDqzsY A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to raise funds for the development of the Baby Jared Bridge. link: https://gofund.me/82c21497 The target aimed to reach is $246,000 AUD. The National has also written about it: https://lnkd.in/g59zM_cN A Facebook page has also been set up: https://lnkd.in/giHHrGw7 This short film tells Samarie's story, sharing the heartbreaking loss of her twins. It demonstrates the immense need for a bridge across the Yuat River (one of the major tributaries of the Sepik River). We encourage you to watch this video, and to reflect on how you can show love to Samarie and her village - Mengamenau, located along the borders of Enga, Madang and Western Highlands. We ask you to donate, to pray, and to share this story with those around you. The immense grief of losing a child is not unfamiliar to Samarie. She is a mother of five, but only one of her children is alive today. This is the result of her lack of access to health care services. We believe that if there had have been a bridge across the Yuat River, babies Jared and Sanda would both be alive today. Why wait for your PNG government? You can do something about this. We ask you to help us build this bridge. Thank you. Contact 74625644 for more information or questions.
