Municipalities big and small need to define their role in EV charging. But what makes for a successful strategy and how can cities collaborate with public and private actors to make it happen in a moment of fiscal constraints? At this year’s Transportation Association of Canada / Association des transports du Canada conference, Dunsky Managing Consultant Lindsay Wiginton Wiginton and TransLink’s Sabrina Lau Texier will discuss the results of a charging analysis completed for Metro Vancouver to support the city’s rapid rise in EV adoption. The presentation will offer relevant and practical insights for decision-makers, including the results of our charging needs assessment, equity considerations, information about the critical role of EV-ready apartment and condo retrofits, and the policy relationship between public and home charging. Curious to see how #BEAD policy is amended to reduce eligibility restrictions, specifically as it applies to financial matches for smaller, less-resourced providers. The more smaller providers there are out there, the higher the competition will be for incumbents--in the end, that will hopefully mean consumer costs are driven down!
