Today, we join the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) and other utilities throughout the country to recognize National Lineworker Appreciation Day. Rain or shine, day and night, our lineworkers and field crews work tirelessly — often in challenging conditions — to ensure that our communities have safe and reliable power. On behalf of our entire organization, THANK YOU for all you do to serve our customers! #LineworkerAppreciationDay

Why have employers driving gas gunslinger vehicles burning fossil fuels to and from an office building which is killing our planet, our home just so you can lay a higher electric bill for offices you don’t need. The work can be done at home. It’s not hard to see whose getting work done and who isn’t unless again we’re being paid for attendance. You can also cut costs on supervisors, managers, custodians etc. Give them other jobs that matter to the planet, like doing community projects making gardens, community crafts, education on what’s right because it’s right? We’re killing our home for a few oil and plastic men who just need to go somewhere maybe an island to inhabit and control among themselves.

Utility workers continue to suffer serious injuries on the job. Every day they face exposure from energized panels, commercial lighting systems, working at heights on power poles, handling dangerous equipment, and driving on unsurfaced roads. While many deaths are attributed to failure to adhere to proper procedure, it’s vital that #leaders look at the broader scope of cultural and organizational influences that drive workers to cut corners and take shortcuts in order to get the job done. I help operational leaders & HSQE teams achieve the safety and reliability improvements they want, using behavioural science, cultural diagnostics, leadership development, BBS/SIF support and in-field coaching.
What lies behind the serious injuries and fatalities in the growing utilities sector? Once you accept HOP #humanfactors principles that error is normal and blaming solves nothing, where do you go as an #leader to understand how to reduce damaging bottlenecks between an organisation's intentions and its actions in relation to safety and reliability? #goodread #reflection #utilities #culturematters #organizationalculture #leadership

There is a major fracturing on display within the Democrat party: The blue collar workers who want to keep their jobs and the green environmentalists set on destroying America’s oil and gas industries at virtually any cost. President Biden has the backs of the latter.

Addressing the Human Cost: The International Labour Organization's recent estimation of 2.3 million work-related injuries among blue-collar workers globally, with many resulting in fatalities, is a stark reminder of the human cost associated with industrial work. Each day, over 6,000 lives are tragically lost, and approximately 340 million workers suffer from work-related accidents annually. The crane collapse in NYC is no outlier. We recognize the responsibility we share as a technology provider to contribute to the prevention of future accidents and ensure the well-being of industrial workers. We take these statistics to heart, and our mission is to make a meaningful difference in the lives of industrial workers. Madison, was conceived with a profound understanding of the challenges faced by blue-collar workers daily. We are dedicated to fostering a safer and more secure work environment, where every worker returns home safely to their loved ones. With Madison complimenting the skills of our industrial workforce, we can augment their abilities rather than replace them as humans. Our software provides real-time safety guidance, ensuring workers have access to critical information, precautions, and safety checklists at their fingertips, anytime they need. We firmly believe that empowering workers with knowledge and advanced tools can significantly reduce work-related injuries and accidents. https://lnkd.in/eJtevav4
