However, there is a time to act quickly on a construction site- when as incident occurs. This doesn’t mean you should rush to take action. It’s important to act quickly to tend to an injury, and you need to be prepared to do so correctly. Otherwise, chaotic rushing can create more problems. Averted Unit Trip through Quick Response Thrilled to share a recent experience where I played a part in preventing a unit trip at my power plant. A critical situation arose when a 415V bus tripped, leading to equipment on the bus and the mill tripping as well. This caused a rapid decrease in unit load. Time was of the essence, and with a potential unit trip looming within a tenth of a second, I took decisive action. By promptly initiating the oil gun, I was able to stabilize the unit and prevent a full trip, albeit with a narrow margin for error. This incident highlights the importance of remaining calm and acting swiftly in high-pressure situations. It's a reminder that a single, well-timed decision can have a significant impact on plant operations. I'm grateful to my plant head and department head for recognizing this effort.
