Our training sessions are not your typical snooze-fests; we guarantee they'll be engaging and informative. Our programs serve two important purposes: they get new hires up to speed and serve as a useful refresher for long-time employees, keeping them sharp on your service details. We know managers are incredibly busy, making it tough to find time for training and spot areas for improvement. That's where we step in to make things easier and drive positive change. 📝"You must change your approach in order to change your results." A famous line from a notable speaker, which also applies to how we develop and improve human performance in shipping. ➡️Let's face it: working at sea is not a box-ticking exercise. 🤔Having crew members who are simply good at paperwork or passing an audit cannot always guarantee a safe and excellent performance. We need on-board crew members who are thinkers, problem solvers, and above all, decision-makers who can deal with any situation that might be thrown at them. 💪🏻Just like in TORM, they want to empower their people on board, so they push them to take on the decision-making responsibility. So, they do not ‘just’ have operators there. It is a strategic choice from their side. They see their strategy as a bottom-up approach to managing human performance, which is way different from other companies' practice, which is to have operators on board that are ‘controlled’ from shore by telling them what to do—TORM thinks this is a resource-heavy way of doing it. ✨Safety Delta goes hand in hand with TORM's strategy. Here are words from a Junior Officer about his experience of a bottom-up approach as he was entrusted with facilitating the Safety Delta dialogue: "At first, we participated in the (Safety Delta) dialogue with the captain and senior officers. But the second time, we were only junior officers together with all the other crew members, and then we tried to encourage everybody to speak up and discuss the things from the Safety Delta report that we thought could be improved: everybody was participating, and they were telling exactly what the main problem is, what should be improved, and what should be done better." ⏸️Pause a sec. Does our approach help the seafarers become who we envision them to be? 🛠️Does our approach to the crew enable them to think ethically, logically, and practically? Do we support or give the crew the opportunity to come up with better solutions to any challenges they face on board? Do we prepare the crew to initiate and make decisions that are made in a systematic manner and after careful consideration of all relevant factors and potential consequences? #HumanPerformance #SafetyDelta #GreenJakobsen #TORM #HumanFactors

Let me introduce you to The Assistant Competency Model®. It's the foundational model of The Linchpin Assistant approach to training and coaching Admin Professionals. I developed it after observing how different assistants perform their roles using their functional competency and strategic or big-picture thinking skills. It illustrates where EAs, PAs, Team Assistants and Administrative Assistants spend their time and how they show up based on both axes. Aptitude, confidence, development, mindset and experience also impact the zone an Assistant occupies. Over the next few days, I will share what it "looks" like to be in each zone. I'll tell you WHY it matters to you as an assistant and to you if you're a leader or part of People & Culture. And I'll share WHAT's required to move into the more impactful Linchpin zone and how I work with my clients to achieve exactly that. #elevatingyoureffectiveness #executiveassistanttraining #personalassistanttraining #administrativeassistanttraining #administrativeprofessionaltraining #assistantcompetencymodel #thelinchpinassistant #eatraining #patraining #admintraining #lizvanvliet

Our very own Siddhartha (Sid) Sattanathan and Linda Jacob recently had the fantastic opportunity to attend a masterclass where only three hotels in the Radisson Hotel Group were invited to present on maximizing #engagement with Typsy training 👏🏽 We’re proud to share that #RadissonHotelDubaiDAMACHills has one of the highest employee engagement rates with Typsy courses. Here’s why: 🔹 Continuous Learning: From day one, we emphasize that learning is a journey. Typsy offers our team the flexibility to learn new skills and enhance existing ones at their own pace. 🔹 Cross-Functional Learning: We encourage our team to explore beyond their roles, keeping learning diverse and exciting with Typsy's extensive library. Specially within our Gen Z colleagues, who are eager to learn every day. 🔹 Engaging Touchpoints: We integrate Typsy into our training sessions and internal communications, highlighting specific courses and offering additional resources. 🔹 Making Learning Fun: Friendly competition and incentives attached to them; boosting team engagement. By following these strategies, we’ve transformed our team into active learners, fostering a culture of continuous development and success. 🚀 Thank you Brenda R. Max Zaniewski for the invitation! #Climate change is already having serious impacts on the #safety and #health of workers in all regions of the world. #Workers are among those most exposed to climate change hazards yet frequently have no choice but to continue working, even if conditions are dangerous. #Global occupational safety and health (OSH) protections have struggled to keep up with the evolving risks from climate change, resulting in worker mortality and morbidity. reference- #ILO #Celebrating world day for safety and health 2024 with the theme of 'Ensuring safe and healthy work now in a changing climate' at my workplace to make an impactful awareness among my staff and colleagues for a #sustainable approach while working.

We've all heard the phrase "taking the plunge," an ode to diving headfirst into situations, embodying courage and bravery. Yet, just like the lady in today's video, sometimes taking the plunge without adequate preparation can leave us floundering, injured, or quite literally, in deep water. The video captures the essence of many of our daily challenges. Eager to impress and perhaps driven by a momentary adrenaline rush, the shoeless lady attempts to leap across a wide waterway. Despite making it to the other side, her unstable footing causes her to topple backward. In a desperate bid to stay dry, she tries to return, only to find herself crashing and drenched. This incident mirrors so many moments in our workplaces. How often have we, or our colleagues, leapt into a task or project without fully understanding the nuances or potential pitfalls? The thrill of diving into a new challenge is often enticing, but without proper assessment and preparation, we risk falling short or getting hurt. As we navigate our careers, it's essential to remember that while taking the plunge is admirable, doing so with awareness, preparation, and understanding is crucial. This ensures that even if we don't land perfectly, we're well-equipped to handle the aftermath without finding ourselves struggling to stay afloat. Today, let's challenge ourselves to combine our courage with caution. Dive in, but make sure you know how deep the water is first. At the Safetyman Academy, we place a high emphasis on cultivating this level of awareness through our various online CPD certified training courses. Our programs are designed to remind every worker, manager, and employer that attention to detail is paramount when it comes to safety. We're proud to make our courses available in 60 languages, reaching out to learners worldwide, bridging linguistic barriers, and fostering an environment of global learning. Don't wait – embrace the future of learning today.
