Worried AI may kill critical thinking? Meet my ten-year-old daughter - when she's shouting angrily at "Gary," (that's what she calls ChatGPT - who knows why)! She favours a voice command 🙄 and is constantly challenging Gary: "WHY DO YOU THINK THAT GARY? BUT WHAT ABOUT...." But it's not just chat. She's thinking critically- planning her cupcake empire from her room, questioning everything from pricing to business ethics. By 6pm, when screens go off (well that's what I'll put here in public), she’s already tackled issues like AI bias and hallucination with childlike simplicity: “WE’RE NOT ALL MADE OF MONEY GARY. WHY DO YOU THINK MY FRIENDS WILL PAY THAT MUCH FOR CAKE?” "WHO EXACTLY DO YOU THINK THEY ARE??" Is AI a threat to critical thinking? Don't ask me, ask my daughter... “MUUUUUM CAN I GET A NEW AI?
