Day 11 of training in South East Asia. Volume: Timor Leste. Today we are learning about the nuances in vessel behaviours through a combination of MDA tools, from operations to ultimate beneficial ownership. Through a series of exercises, we investigate Indonesian vessels apparently operating within the EEZ of Timor Leste. We are using tools such as Skylight (whenever internet allows), Global Fishing Watch, Triton, And multiple others. Reviewing outdated legislation remains the first step in tackling illegal fishing through to legal finish. The reality is that without legal finish, we miss deterrence. #timorleste
