Another great collaborative project for T'Sou-ke Nation and partners to monitor vessels of concern and prevent/mitigate risk BEFORE an actual environmental disaster occurs. Putting technology like the BRNKL Rapid Deploy kit into the capable hands of trained Indigenous marine teams will be a game changer in the management of wrecked, abandoned and hazardous vessels from coast to coast to coast. Thanks to CANDO, CCG, BRNKL, RR3D and the marine teams from Beecher Bay and Malahat Nations for making this training event such a huge success! With thousands of high risk vessels of concern littering Canada's 3 Oceans, it's time to get cracking and put remote monitoring technology like this on every one of these vessels!

Here is a good mystery for you. Here is the deal, last week, the Indonesian KKP inspected the fishing vessel KM Mitra Utama Semesta (MUS) (289 gross tonnes GT). The vessel was indicated to have received 100 tonnes of transshipped fish from two illegal foreign vessels, namely Run Zeng (RZ) 03 and RZ 05. A total of 100 tonnes of fish is thought to be the result of fish theft in Indonesian waters over five days, with types of fish including layur, red snapper and white snapper. Nothing new you’d say, right? However, why on earth, would a Chinese owned vessel be flagged to the one country that is embargoed right and left, Russia. Can anyone explain what I am missing? Fishing vessels with Russian crew members on board sinks in Atlantic — newspaper Seven are listed as missing, while six others are presumed dead, The Guardian reported LONDON, July 24/ Seven people are listed as missing after the Argos Georgia fishing vessel, whose crew included citizens of Russia, has sunk in the southern part of the Atlantic Ocean, The Guardian newspaper reported. The vessel, flying the flag of British overseas territory Saint Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha, reported "uncontrolled flooding" late on July 22. At the time of the accident, the ship was approximately 200 nautical miles away from the Falkland Islands capital, Stanley. According to preliminary information, the ship had a crew of 27. Ten of them, including the captain, were the citizens of Spain. There were also Russian, Indonesian, Uruguayan and Peruvian crew members on board, the report says. 14 of them managed to board inflatable rafts and were rescued by other ships. Seven are listed as missing, while six others are presumed dead. Argos Georgia, operated by the British-Norwegian company Argos Froyanes Ltd, left the port of Stanley late on July 21.
