Sorry to say it but… ‘Subscribe & save’ offers aren’t going to save your retention issues. It’s easy for subscribe & save to slip into: 1. Alienation: Your one-time buyers can feel ripped off. 2. Gamification: People can abuse the system and cancel. 3. Margins: High-rate discounts aren’t a sustainable practice. This doesn’t mean subscribe & save never works, but I encourage DTC brands to consider member exclusives, smaller discounts, discounted upsells, and other value adds.
