Crushers are fundamental assets in the crushing process, aiming at reducing the granulometry of the material to avoid overloading the grinding stage, which presents the highest energy consumption in ore treatment. Find out more about the types of crushers and their main faults in our blogpost by accessing the link: https://lnkd.in/d5ZJ3NyN #dynamox #crushers #industrialassets #predictivemaintenance

A rotary kiln is a long slightly tilted refractory lined open-ended cylindrical furnace. The kiln rotates very slowly about its longitudinal axis and the raw charge is fed into the top end of the cylinder. The feed (calcium carbonate in the form of solid granules) is heated and starts decomposing into lime (CaO) once it reaches a specific temperature (>900 C) by its exposure to the hot combustion gas mixture flowing counter-currently. Finally, the solid is transported to the lower end where complete conversion of calcium carbonate to lime is achieved and the product is discharged. Attrached photo shows heat transfer processes in the kiln. #caco3 #pyroprocess #Calcination #Heat_balances #rotarykiln

#Phosphate rock #fines is with small particle size, and the forming performance is extremely poor, making it difficult to make briquettes. At room temperature, it is impossible to make phosphorus rocks fines #briquettes by single pressure. A #binder with excellent bonding properties must be required. The binder has cohesive force through infiltration and penetration after contacting water, so that the material particles can be bonded together, so that the #pellets/briquettes have good forming properties, so that the pellets/briquettes have sufficient strength during production and transportation. Crushing strength, and when added to an electric furnace (submerged arc furnace) for smelting, it must also have good thermal properties and crushing strength. It is generally required that when the pellets/briquettes are feed into an electric furnace, briquettes will not deform or break at high temperatures of 1300~1500°C,high #tempreturerresistance. Features of Jianjie binder: ①Made of #polymer environmentally friendly materials; ②The dosage is small and the quality is not degraded; ③The (#CCS)cold compressive strength of pellets/briquettes is more than 100 kg; ④Improve the utilization rate of phosphate rock powder; ⑤Phosphate rock powder pellets are resistant to high temperatures and meet the needs of electric furnace smelting; ⑥High cold compressive strength and the forming time is short.

"There is a significant and necessary drive towards reducing CO2 emissions produced by iron and steelmaking industries. Binding Solutions Limited has developed a technology to contribute to the reduction of CO2 in the short and long term, by introducing a cold-bonded iron ore pellet to the furnace burden. Binding Solutions’ cold-agglomerated pellets, manufactured from magnetite and hematite iron ore, were tested in accordance with ISO standard tests alongside a standard market pellet. ISO standards were developed to assess the quality of lump ore, sinter and hot-bonded or alternatively known as indurated pellets, and there can be anomalies when testing cold-agglomerated pellets by the same methods. Additional test methodology, outside the scope of international standards may be utilised to give a fuller picture of pellet character- istics. The HOSIM test method was used to assess the properties of cold-bonded pellets of different minerologies. Results found that the time needed to reach a set point of reduction for a cold-agglomerated pellet is shorter than for an indurated control pellet. The data also showed that for the same iron ore source, alternate cold agglomeration methods can have a significant impact on the balance of pellet properties." richard joyce Matthew Bennett Kelly K #ironmaking #ironore #agglomeration #binders #magnetite #decarbonisation #HOSIM #reducibility

Sand VS Chalk 🤝 Slurries of sand in water shown in the video are fast settling, whereas slurries of chalk in water are pretty slow settling. Why is this important? Well, carbon-bound catalysts behave similarly to the chalk slurry. As you can see, when we stop shaking the vials the sand slurry settles out much faster than the chalk slurry. Settling out very slowly over time, this is what makes carbon-bound catalysts extremely easy to feed into our Coflore flow reactors using simple equipment such as peristaltic pumps. Faster-settling solids, like magnesium powder, for example, require more consideration to ensure that they do not settle in transfer lines, this is what can cause blocking and other issues on the way to the reactor tank. #Slurryhandling #processoptimisation #catalysts
