The #FlexCrash project uses green aluminium alloys and lightweight materials proposing processes more respectful for the planet and leading to a more sustainable #automotive sector. In this sense, the project's technology contributes to directly reduce the fatalities risks in road crashes, but also reducing CO2 emissions coming from the direct contribution of the lightweighting of car body parts, and from the simplification of the entire supply chain. ℹ️https://lnkd.in/d3J-PY9m

The interest in lowering carbon dioxide emissions by introducing new material solutions is stronger than ever before. Therefore, the usage of composite materials in car and truck components is analyzed and tested at RISE Research Institutes of Sweden in Piteå by the project Ground Zero. To make sure that also the moulds used for manufacturing the composite panels are made in a way representing minimum carbon dioxide effect, it was decided to use Toolox® 33 from SSAB. Toolox® will be made in the new SSAB fossil free process in the future but has already now in general excellent benefits for the application. Combining superior mechanical properties with an outstanding machining performance. The workshop benefits can be confirmed by the machining specialist Nordtool #reducedenvironmentalimpact #Toolox #RISE #toolsteel #superiormechanicalproperties #machiningperformance #Nordtool #projectgroundzero #automotive

It’s easy to think of plastic as an unsustainable material to be avoided at all costs. However, in the auto industry, carmakers are switching from steel grilles, panels, seat frames, fuel tanks and mounts, to those made from injection-moulded plastic. Less weight means fewer emissions for gasoline and hybrid vehicles, and longer battery-life in electric models. This is one of the reasons we’re proud to be working with some of the world’s leading plastics manufacturers, as they develop new and more sustainable products. #netzero #PlasticsInnovation #plastic #SIMCON #SimulationSoftware #CADMOULD #VARIMOS #InjectionSimulation #Sustainability #AdvancedSimulation #EV

The electrical industry is more than just an industry: it is a motor for progress and sustainability. With its innovations and technologies, it makes a significant contribution to improving the quality of life and shaping a sustainable future. Plastic parts for the electronics industry are typically low weight and include delicate structures. They are most commonly made from flame-retardant fibre-reinforced plastics. Micro-switches, reed contacts, plug connectors and LEDs often come with inserts or are manufactured in reel-to-reel processes. We have been a partner to the electronics industry for many years, and we offer tailor-made hot runner systems. #Electric #Innovation #Sustainability #EnergyEfficiency #Electromobility #Digitalization #HeitecHotrunnersystem #Hotrunner #HotRunnerSystems #plastic #plasticsIndustry

Wet (1) vs. Dry (2) Carbon Fiber When it comes to carbon fiber technology, the choice between wet carbon fiber and dry carbon fiber plays a crucial role in performance and cost. Wet Carbon Fiber: Cost-effective but with lower strength-to-weight ratio. Commonly used for less critical components and budget-friendly projects. Dry Carbon Fiber: Offers superior lightweight strength, thanks to precise resin application. Ideal for high-performance industries like motorsports, aerospace, and EV manufacturing. While wet carbon is great for cost savings, dry carbon takes the lead in efficiency, durability, and premium finish. 👉 Don't forget to follow, like and share with friends #Technology #ElectricVehicles #Automotive #Sustainability #Innovation Credit: forzatuning6909
