September's edition of the always topical Logistics Business magazine is now available. All pages are highly readable but we're particularly struck by page 34 - because it features us! For logistics companies an end to end view of key cost drivers provides great insight for finance teams. However, these insights can be applied right across the organisation. 🤝 Sales can use end to end costing data to identify unprofitable customers and analyse where to take remedial action. 🚛 Operations get detailed visibility on fixed and variable costs and ops cost per move. 📈 Pricing are able to use cost insights to implement dynamic and spot rate pricing. Click on the link in the Logistics Business post to access their magazine. We hope you enjoy all pages 1 - 76 😎 #logistics #DataAnalytics #BusinessIntelligence #ecommerce

The ever-changing nature of global trade requires logistics to constantly evolve. This presents the industry with a number of challenges. In 2024, the logistics industry will have to adapt to these trends in response to these changes: ➡️ Robot interoperability: the scaling of robot fleets through standardised interfaces. ➡️ AI-driven warehouse management: Intelligent systems such as PSIwms are revolutionising warehouse management. ➡️ Unified standards: Thanks to organisations such as the Open Logistics Foundation, open source solutions and industry-wide standards are coming into focus. ➡️ Real-time container tracking: More transparency in the global supply chain. ➡️ Focus on the essentials: With mobile robots, we focus on the necessary technology to minimise errors and maximise efficiency. ➡️ Sustainability: Reducing of plastic film through innovative palletising solutions. At transport logistic, you can also find out how you can benefit from trends and what industry experts have to say about the developments! Mark your calendars for 02-05 June 2025 and we'll see you in Munich 👋 Source: https://lnkd.in/dU9qTJmR #transportlogistic #logistics #tradefair #trends

We are now approaching that time again in the Supply Chain calendar as the latest developments in Supply Chain automation are showcased at Modex in Atlanta and Logimat in Stuttgart. Reflecting on past events, we've witnessed the evolution of trends like robotic piece picking, automated container unloading, and the emergence of mobile robots. But where is it all going? Rather than a convergence of technologies to a small range of products applicable to many different scenarios, I am instead seeing more and more technologies being released with very specific applications and incremental gains. Will this trend persist? Personally, I think that as more vendors enter the market, we will continue to see an expansion of this trend towards very specific applications for new technologies. Eventually however, the increasing use of AI for optimised real-time task planning will inevitably begin to make certain fixed technologies, not flexible enough to take advantage of on-the fly optimisation, redundant. Perhaps we will subsequently see a convergence of technologies then? While I will not attend in person this year, keep an eye out at Modex for Deloitte’s Wanda Riddick Johnson presenting findings from the 2024 MHI Annual Industry Report. #Modex #Logimat #AutomationTrends #DeloitteSupplyChain #SCP

Last week, Me and my team spent some nice days in Frankfurt and visited ACHEMA. The event was a showcase of groundbreaking innovations and transformative trends, all driving the industry towards a more sustainable and efficient future. Here are some key takeaways: Sustainability: At the forefront of discussions, sustainability initiatives are reshaping the industry. From advanced waste reduction strategies to cutting-edge waste management technologies, the focus is on creating environmentally friendly processes. Industrial Internet of Things (IloT): The integration of IloT is revolutionizing how we monitor and optimize industrial processes. Real-time data collection and analysis are enabling smarter decision-making and greater operational efficiency. Robotics: Robots are becoming integral to the process industry, handling tasks with precision and efficiency. Their role in automation is pivotal, reducing human error and increasing productivity. Continuous Manufacturing: One of the hottest topics at ACHEMA was continuous manufacturing. This approach is streamlining production processes, reducing downtime, and increasing throughput. Advanced Software Solutions: From plant batch management to overall plant operations, advanced software solutions are optimizing every aspect of manufacturing. These technologies are enhancing productivity, reducing costs, and improving quality control. The future of the process industry is incredibly promising, with these innovations paving the way for more sustainable, efficient, and safe operations. It's an exciting time to be a part of the R&D processing and I look forward to seeing how these advancements continue to shape our world and specifically our Henkel Innovations.
