We conducted a study case comparing the Series 9000 engine precleaners from SY-KLONE International to the OEM rain-cap system on a Cat793 rock truck. The results exceeded expectations! On a 2000-hour run: - Before the test: filters were changed every 150 hours, costing $2660 with 13 filter changes and 26 blow-outs. - After the test: filters were changed after 610 hours, costing $402 with 3 filter changes and NO blow-outs. The costs were calculated at $55.77 per filter and $30 per hour for labor. The efficiency of the precleaner became evident as it resulted in $2258 in savings. This does not include the added savings you can have on fuel consumption efficiency. The study registered a 7% reduction on fuel consumption. This study highlights the substantial cost-saving benefits of utilizing a proper precleaner system, making it a valuable investment for improved maintenance efficiency.
