🚨 New Series Alert 🚨 Our creative team have truly been cooking over the last few months, and we’re finally ready to share it with you all… 🧑🍳 Allow us to present our new video project, Climate+ The theme for this series is intersectionality — it’s a word that is crucial to both understanding the causes and devising effective solutions to the climate crisis. We’ve teamed up with the good folks at Oxfam to create a five-part series all about the links between climate change and other issues like gender, conflict, class, colonialism, and health. We’ll be releasing five episodes weekly over the course of the next five weeks, with the first launching on Monday 8 July. That’s a wrap on another Earthrise Originals project! Over the last month or so, we’ve been publishing weekly episodes of Climate+, our brand new digital content series created in partnership with Oxfam GB. The folks at Oxfam came to us earlier this year with an awesome brief — to create a five-part series to introduce their audience to some of the key issues that intersect with climate change including gender equality, conflict, social class, health, and colonialism. To say it’s been a hit would be an understatement! So far, the episodes have racked up a whopping 400,000 views (and counting), and we’ve achieved more than 750,000 impressions across the digital impact campaign. There’s a reason we’re celebrating these metrics — they’re a sign that this content is travelling beyond our audience and reaching people who need to hear its message! Climate+ has been a true labour of love, spanning a team across two organisations, and interviews with activists across more than 4 continents. Welcome to Ep. 4 of Climate+, our new five-part series all about the intersectionality of climate change and social justice, created in partnership with Oxfam. This week we’re exploring planetary health — the idea that human wellbeing in the long term is dependent on the wellbeing of the earth including living and nonliving systems. We speak to Ashley Lashley, a climate activist and teacher from Barbados who has created a platform to educate people on the role climate change has played in making disease outbreaks more frequent in their home country and beyond.
