Only when healthcare organizations are penalized big $$ for not meeting outcomes will we see population health/value-based care become a priority. Outpatient nutrition/diabetes programs will continue to be dissolved because healthcare administrators declare “you don’t bring in much” despite our impressive spreadsheets of outcomes proving that value-based care. Unfortunately the wonderful providers that support us don’t have a say in our existence, only the bean counters.

Absolutely love this vision! Interprofessional collaboration is the cornerstone of effective patient care. Ensuring referring providers are well-versed in nutrition will elevate patient outcomes and enrich healthcare services. Let’s champion integrated care models that harness the expertise of all healthcare professionals, especially in nutrition. Together, we can drive transformative change in healthcare!
