These two concepts are often confused and sometimes even combined. Biophilic design and eco-design share common traits such as a connection to nature and care for the environment but differ in their core principles and approaches. Here is a brief description of their differences: Biophilic Design - Goal: Connection with nature, improving health. - Elements: Living plants, natural materials, light. - Examples: Green walls, large windows with nature views. Eco-Design - Goal: Minimizing ecological footprint. - Elements: Recycled materials, energy-efficient technologies. - Examples: Furniture made from recycled materials, solar panels.
