The first 100 days of a new government are crucial in setting the tone and direction. It is a pivotal period where the administration must swiftly establish priorities, build alliances, and demonstrate leadership. During this window, the government must identify key policies to prioritise, such as economic reforms, public service improvements, or legislative changes. Ultimately, the first 100 days provide a new government with an opportunity to hit the ground running, establish credibility, and lay the groundwork for their broader agenda. This is why the REA is focusing on what the Government can deliver in its first 100 days. Showing true climate leadership and ambition. As a side note, we did also produce a manifesto, but we just did it at the time of party conferences last year, so we could use it to shape the manifestos which are now days away from being published and I'm looking forward to seeing how succesful that has been. So we have a much wider set of policy asks for our members but the first 100 days is the first crucial milestone we must all seek to influence and shape. #ECo | Take our 2024 5-minute poll! Now more than ever, climate commitments must be fulfilled. This fulfilment can be achieved through the use of innovative finance flows. Not only that - if allocated correctly, these finance flows can accelerate the energy transition, create new avenues for global cooperation, further engage the private sector, and bring about the social and environmental justice that vulnerable communities deserve. This is what 2024 looks like for E Co. - What will 2024 bring for you? The objective of this poll is to gain a more comprehensive view of the expectations of our network this year and an understanding of what goals are being worked on. It should take no more than 5 minutes to complete this poll. What are the two perspectives of double materiality? Why does this double perspective matter? 🤔 👇 Have a look at this short summary to understand the key ideas. Want to deepen your understanding, work on a concrete use case, and exchange ideas and tips with peers from different industries? It's not too late: Join our 1-hour webinar tomorrow at 12 pm! 🕛 Impact Materiality: Inside-out perspective 🔄 Here, companies must identify and assess the impacts of their activities on society and the environment. This includes, for example, their contribution to air and water pollution or greenhouse gas emissions. Financial Materiality: Outside-in perspective 💹 Companies must identify and evaluate risks and opportunities arising from external environmental, social, and economic trends and changes. For example, this includes assessing the impact of extreme weather events on production facilities. Step by step, the "Materiality" will mean/be viewed as the "Double Materiality", broadening the understanding of materiality from a singular focus to a dual focus encompassing both financial impact and broader environmental/social impacts. 👉 Registration: https://lnkd.in/gukgj8em 🌐
