Oriole Resources PLC (AIM:ORR) executive director Claire Bay discusses promising gold results from the company's Mbe licence in Cameroon with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion. Bay explained that Oriole is advancing the Mbe licence, funded by BCM, which involves a $4 million exploration expenditure for up to a 50% interest in the project, including milestone payments based on resource size. Oriole has employed conventional exploration techniques, resulting in significant gold anomalies within the Mbe licence area. Rock sampling and mapping have identified high-grade quartz veins and lower-grade anomalies, which are crucial for building volume in the deposit. Recent results include infill soil sampling at the MB-01 prospect, revealing discrete vein systems with mineable grades. The largest anomaly extends over a kilometre and shows promising grades of up to half a gram per tonne. Additionally, due diligence by BCM confirmed... #ORR’s fully funded, 7060m Phase 5 drill programme is ongoing at the Bakassi Zone 1 (BZ1) prospect, part of the Bibemi Gold Project in #Cameroon To date, 10 vertical holes have been drilled for approximately 1,244 metres at the main BZ1 MRE area. Samples from these holes are being prepared, with initial results expected in Q3-2024. Intersections of shallow-dipping and steeply dipping quartz and quartz-tourmaline veins show the potential for additional near-surface mineralisation within the existing open pit design limits. A further 27 holes have been planned at BZ1-MRE, focussed on expanding and upgrading the existing MRE. 25 holes are also planned at along-strike target areas BZ1-NE and BZ1-SW, where exploration to date has generated coincident geochemical and geophysical targets. #ORR has submitted an exploitation licence application (ELA) to the Cameroon Mines Ministry for review. The ELA, which is supported by various technical and economic studies, is required to secure the tenure of the licence as exploration and development activities continue.

ZAMBIA LAUNCHES NATIONWIDE AERIAL SURVEY TO UNCOVER MINERAL WEALTH President Hakainde Hichilema of Zambia has officially launched a nationwide high-resolution aerial geophysical survey aimed at uncovering the country’s hidden geological assets. This initiative utilizes advanced airborne geophysical technology to identify mineral and water resources, significantly reducing exploration costs and fostering new investment opportunities. This ambitious project is part of the government’s broader strategy to unlock Zambia’s untapped mineral wealth, with the ultimate goal of reaching 3 million tonnes of copper production by 2031. The detailed mapping effort will enhance exploration and help accurately determine the market value of Zambia’s…READ MORE HERE https://lnkd.in/dxpHTbRV

Killi Resources Limited (ASX: KLI) has announced results of recent internal and external technical reviews of the Mt Rawdon West Project, which highlights further copper-gold potential at Baloo and Kaa prospects. Using technology developed by the Centre for Exploration Targeting, multiple blind intrusives have been identified confirming the target areas have seen multiple generations of potentially mineralised magma pulses. These blind intrusives, identified during this process, align with the current surface copper-gold-molybdenum anomalies. Soil data was further evaluated, where dominant elements and metals were determined for each soil sampling point, a process which determines dominant metals in zones and is useful for magma controlled mineral systems. This process identified two distinct copper-gold-molybdenum zonations at Baloo and Kaa. Read full announcement here: https://lnkd.in/gjFt9_y2 Kathryn Cutler

Rwanda Exploration Update. Aterian plc (LSE: ATN), the critical metal-focused exploration and development company, is pleased to provide an update on recent work on the Rio Tinto Joint Venture in Southern Rwanda. Highlights: 👉 2,274 auger soil sample results received 👉 Key pathfinder elements vector into areas of potential sub-surface pegmatite occurrences 👉 Geological model upgraded with structural interpretation of pegmatites 👉 Drill planning on the licence is well advanced, with the commencement of drilling currently anticipated next month Results: During Q1/2024, 2,274 auger soil samples were collected from 200 x 20 m and 200 x 40m grids over anomalous areas identified in an earlier, coarser-spaced geochemical sampling programme. The samples were shipped to ALS in Ireland for multi-element analysis. The results from this work have allowed for an interpretation of relevant geochemical ratios that determine the key pathfinder elements that vector into areas of potential sub-surface pegmatite occurrences. #RNS #ATN #Exploration https://lnkd.in/ePKqdZaa

S.OYUNBAT: WE NEED TO THOROUGHLY EXPLORE THE RARE EARTH MINERALS IN OUR COUNTRY Rare earth elements are a relatively new topic for our country's mineral sector. However, S.Oyunbat, a Mongolian consultant geologist with a PhD, is quite familiar with these elements. Geo-Info, a consulting company specializing in geo-information and exploration, was established by S.Oyunbat and has been active in the field since 2008. The company discovered the Ulaan Del rare earth element deposit in Uvs aimag. In 2018, the mineralization reserve was presented to the Professional Council of Mineral Resources, discussed, and subsequently registered as a rare earth element (REE) deposit in Mongolia's Mineral Resources Fund. Rare earth elements are drawing significant interest from technologically advanced countries. We discussed how research on rare earth elements is conducted in Mongolia. Typically, these elements are found in nature alongside other minerals. https://lnkd.in/gg9cpXSY

Attended the International Geological Survey Meeting at Future Minerals Forum and heard some of the biggest challenges in the field from Geological Survey Authorities. They spoke of the digitization of historical geological data and undertaking a country-wide geological survey. However, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the Ministry of Mining Republic of South Sudan is already ahead of the game. They have already addressed these challenges and are in the implementation phase. South Sudan's historical data has been digitized and is currently in the second quarter of implementation. More than 35 maps have been transformed into GIS shape files, and the team is finalizing the online system to enable access to data from anywhere in the world with internet access. This is a huge leap in the right direction for South Sudan's mining industry. We must explore every corner of the country to identify where, what, and how much value of minerals the country owns.
